The first of what I assume will be many trailers for Captain America Civil War. :bounce:

BTW, no :spiderman: yet.

going off of this trailer it looks like the whole civil war is just NUH UH YOU AINT TAKING OUT MY BFF!? i thought it was some big political thing with known/public superheroes for a superhero registration act and other ones like captain america all NUH UH GOTTA PROTECT MY PEOPLES?!?!

and hell, that bedbreaker from jessica jones aka luke cage stood by captain america in the comics. maybe we can get some graphic doggystyle in the captain america franchise? sorely lacking IMO, tho hey cap and bucky have a SPECIAL friendship so maybe we can get extra progressive up in here!

and the best part is that you know they're all gonna be hunky dory for the infinity war coming out in a few years... and doesn't thor get his own wacky adventure too before it's all swept under the rug for the infinity gauntlet?

Watched the trailer a few times and the Russo brothers seem to bring some "real world" authenticity to their movies,at least as much as you can to a super hero world. I was shocked when they were handed the 2nd Captain America movie but that movie stands as my favorite hero genre movie. This one looks great, too. Looking forward to seeing one of my all-time favorite comic book hero's,the Black Panther. Growing up,I owned a ton of Avenger comics, followed by Captain America and SHIELD.

It's still hard for me to believe how this superhero thing has taken off in the movies.

Based on nothing other than personal speculation, I wonder if one of the changes they'll make from the comics is to kill off IronMan (perhaps after he comes to his senses, albeit too late) if only because I wonder how interested RDJ wants to keep portraying the character.

That tag-team beatdown though ...

He said the role of Iron Man was the best thing to happen to him. I could see him going through the Infinity Wars. I don't think they'll kill him off, though.

One of my favorite scenes from that arc was when Tony was alone with Cap after he died.

Plus, In the comic the whole reason forthe Civil War wound up being Tony Stark giving a big fuck you to the govt.

Well that's good then.

I wonder why he's holding back in that fight sequence w/ those two.

It would've been fantastic if Marvel had WWE headquarters get blown up, considering the villain who caused all the problems was Nitro.

That's true, it was Nitro, yes :-)

The reason why these movies are doing well is because they're keeping the number of Marvel characters down. There are just 'x' Avengers; they aren't going to spend time re-introducing 50 years' of characters, many of whom never really caught on. The core Avengers from the Stan Lee/Roy Thomas eras.

The other thing they're doing is keeping to storylines written in the past 15 years or so: there are less ownership issues. Also, if you look at Ultimates and books since then, you see that the stories/premises are kept within the range of what can be done in a movie.

My God, imagine some movie guy trying to capture what Jack Kirby was doing on FF & Thor back in the 60s. Galactus as a "cloud", boys and girls?!?

(Hell, I was thinking the other day of how hard 'Preacher' would be to do as a film)

We already had that movie, where Matthew Broderick and all the balcks died saving the world. And Denzel cried one tear which was really cool.
