As I brought up the passing of The Game 87.7, reminds me that Connor was seen as almost something special.

To be very clear, I dont think he did a bad job, and they found him in a pepsi contest, further proving, ITS NOT A HARD JOB....Just a Hard Job to get.....

The guys who go to Columbia, put in the time interning, producing, etc....well....maybe that isnt the crowd that produces a good radio host, because for the most part, they are schlubs, and a Schlub is fine to be part of a show.

You might not like Mancow, but you should be able to acknowledge the guy is a personality who didnt sit behind a production desk for 15 years. He stepped out and made it.

Of course this doesnt mean every guy who produces isnt worthy of being on air, but this "path" that is suppossed and seems to be needed for someone to be on air is a complete joke.

Go find someone better than Connor McDoink and make a good damn good radio sports talk show!

Do you like his work in the DH? Every time I read his columns I have a CH voice in my head saying "McDoink" over and over again. It's hard to take a McDoink seriously.

I have said many times, one of Mitch's biggest failings is his refusal to look for the next North

They won't need "personalities" on WCUB.

The money will go to old Cubs like Grace with MC's like Carmen.

This will be the problem. The only thing they will ask of their hosts is not to offend and draw Cub listeners away. This results in a transformation to WGN.

So what does McDoink do for WGN? I mean I've heard him do a weekend sports show. Is that all he does?

...and it isnt about specific people supporting McDoink. I used him as an example of a capable voice, that at one point was considered a rising star. Thats the high water mark for what the industry considers good.
