It was brought up in the other thread. I think Big Fan has brought it up. Cuz I've heard Goff say to Spiegel "We gon do this? Really?" Or other times where Goff thinks he's being slighted he'll put a halt to the conversation and try to fight with Spiegel because he thinks Spiegel is insulting him.

A lot of times I'm wondering why Goff gets so offended. Spiegel will do some light natured ball busting with Goff. Stuff that shouldn't set Goff off. But it does. It's weird. Goff is really a sensitive guy. Way more than he should be. It makes this show very awkward at times. I think it's paranoia mostly. Because some of the stuff he gets upset about is really nothing. But he makes it a bigger deal by confronting Spiegel. And it then dominates the segment. So instead of sports talk you have two guy dealing with their issues with each other. You can sense the shock in Spiegel as he tries to diffuse it. And the frustration that Goff is such a sensitive, paranoid drama queen.

He is trying desperately to get Goff to respond to him on here.

I think Spiegel takes him. I've seen some really heavy guys fuck people up. Weight is a big advantage even against strength.

Yep, especially if you can get them to the ground and sit on them.

I've seen it done.

The bulldozerish bull-run is very effective as well from what I've seen. Heavy dudes can really absorb some punishment.

Although I do have a hard time seeing Spiegeleisen go into beast mode.

Edit: I don't know what a spiegeleisen is, but my autocorrect keeps going there and I'm tired of changing it.

Back to the topic, anybody else agree that Goff is way too sensitive? I can't be the only one to notice it.

What do you mean "back to the topic"?

I was the first one to address the topic.

Ok. I can't listen to this show much, but I've heard it enough. So I figure these fights between Goff and Spiegel happen a lot.

Spiegel: I hate black Friday.

Goff: What the hell is that suppose to mean? That code for you saying you hate me?

Spiegel: Ummmm, no. It simply means I hate the day after Thanksgiving.

Goff: Alright, dude. You don't fool me. (Slaps table. Sinister laugh)

1. I have said it for awhile. No love here, When you get that deep seeded dislike, it comes out and you cant help it.

2. Goff easily takes down Spiegs. Not a battle at all

But I think Goff just takes things the wrong way. Spiegel is kind of a dick. Yes. But Goff just takes things way too personal and makes things an issue in his mind when it's really a nothing.

By the way, Goff dishes it too. He's kind of a dick himself. So I don't know why he can't take it.

Absolutely. Goff would destroy Spiegel in a fight. Wouldn't last more than 10 seconds before Goff knocks him out.

Goff strikes me as somebody that really talks shit about Spiegel behind his back. Probably with his producers when he has them at "The Crib".

I think it was last week that Goff said he had the producers over to his crib for a party. Spiegel said "Why didn't I get an invite?" Goff really does hate him.

Here's a theory: Maybe that explains the laughing. Just how uncomfortable and disgusted Goff is being around Spiegel makes him have uncontrollable laughter. I'll bet if Mitch let Goff run back into Bernstein's bosom, the laughing would be cured. He's very comfortable with B&B.

When Spiegel inevitably departs WSCR, will Bernstein and Goff play a bunch of old tape to make fun of him or just thank Rod Zimmerman?

"Over the last several years, there have been...(sigh) how do I put this. We've had to make a lot of...accommodations at the Score, not just the obvious workplace accommodations but a lot of emotional accommodations as well. And I don't believe we should have to do that. It's a talk radio station, we talk, and if you don't like it, that's your problem. That's the way it was when we started back on Belmont, Jay, and thankfully, because this company understands what makes for good radio, that's still the way it is today, and...we don't have to be afraid to offend people at our own damn job. That we can say what we mean and not have it taken so personally. And I think this ends kind of a...a vestigial link to a, a dumber era of sports talk here.

"damaneel"

"And it allays my concerns that, (sigh), that a lot of the faux outrage and controversy that has been...so calculated and contrived was really on behalf, by proxy, for, or of someone else who doesn't work here anymore. For a long time I've believed we needed a...healthier workplace environment, in more ways than one, and...I'm grateful that Rod feels the same way. HEY! HOW ABOUT A BUD LIGHT!"

"Nah, Rod, I'm good. AHEHEHEHEHE"

Hmm, it seems like Spiegs is just a gnat to Bernstein. I doubt he would waste much time on bringing up the past.

Funny if he would make this speech as Goff as his new partner. Because he once made a speech where he was proud that the station finally had all of their talk show hosts be college graduates. Which Goff is not.
