Saw the original musical @ the Schubert 40 years ago. Excellent musical. I got to meet Geoffrey Holder (Live & Let Die-Baron Samedi, 7-Up spokesman of back then) & was stoked. Turned around and damn near was eye to eye with Stephanie Mills (Auntie Em in tonight's show). My dad had to stifle laughter at how scared I instantly was.

i liked the original "the wiz"; like the "peter pan" and "sound of music", i have no interest in the modern intonations. it can remain a classic for me, in the original film.

I don't think it translates very well especially without an audience. The stage looks small and you really only focus on what the director wants you to focus on. Anything done on a grand scale on stage is lost when you don't have the perspective of sitting back 100+feet from the action

Better than last year's Peter Pan.

While you all may not have liked it, a lot of people did, and the ratings proved it as well.
