Theo will be repeatedly fellated. Haven't listened much over the last month, but I will give it a whirl before I leave the office.

Yeah, on second thought, not sure I can stomach Dan's slobbering. Have you seen Heyward's body?

"Joe Maddon has been an absolute whirlwind of a salesman." I'm listening, so you don't have to.

"Joe Maddon has been like a college football coach." So actual coaches are creepy, but Maddon pretending to be one is genius. Why am I doing this again? Does that mean Maddon supports child rape?

they have just come to the conclusion that Cubs fans would EXPECT a move like this now.

Their show has been touting this kind of move for some time...why would they be surprised?

"do not talk to me, sounds awful"

methinks someone at the remote was trying to talk to Dan during Terry's read...

i love how the tall tales of the cubs outbidding themselves from soriano have gone up to ~80mil now. in a few more years it'll top 100mil.

Dan just concurred with someone who wrote in and declared the Cubs-Cards rivalry dead.

The Cubs are too good now for the Cardinals to compete.

If Dan thinks it, it must be right. The Cardinals never "outperform" their supposed lack of talent, right?

that's weird, because early in the show he said he expected the Cardinals to still be great and get their talent from unknown places like they always do.

http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/1174139/cubs-tom-ricketts-finds-money-go-now-jason-heyward

Cubs' Tom Ricketts finds the money to go for it now with Jason Heyward

A round of applause, please, for Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts, who has been smacked a time or 50 in this space for not spending like someone from a billion-dollar family should.

On Friday, Ricketts found the money to lure former Cardinal outfielder Jason Heyward to the North Side. I don’t know where $184 million could possibly have been hiding, but Ricketts located what hadn’t been there before. etc.

Oh, and there's a "Las Angeles" later on for good measure.

Apparently, Rick missed the fact that they offered Price 180 million.

So....is Heyward the savior now? The missing piece to the World Series puzzle?

This all seems very strange.

I was able to tune in for a while just to catch Dan telling me the Cubs are now an elite team as was the plan all along. Cubs-Cards is now Yankees-Red Sox. Everyone will want to come to Maddon and be part of all this. The he goes 'by the way did I mention where all the games will be radio broadcasted". This has been nothing but a salesman thing all along to him. CBS corporate Danny.

Also amusing was during the whole talk of the plan coming to fruition in an elite team they stressed multiple spins at the wheel but no guarantee of a world series championship. Baseball playoffs are still too random. Way to hedge.

Ok more beer and shopping. I do feel happy for the happiness of Cub fans but this radio stuff is going to prove too much for me.

Lastly, don't they have too many great players at this point? Too many outfielders and shortstops. Which of the chosen ones from last year's crop of hall of famers goes. Some must I am assuming.

My God, as Bernstein started reading the Gronk-Edulman texts I knew it couldn't be real. How he fell for that was amazing. Beyond the too perfect comedy of it. How the hell would a publication get their private texts?

He did early on, but listen to the Kasper interview.

Never wise to overlook the Cards. They always somehow find a way to compete.

Just like people were over looking the Cubs in the NLDS this year. It's great to have Cub fever right now, but let's see how this team plays (most importantly pitches) before we make a serious judgement.

Met a Cards fan and her husband last night. She insisted on praising the Cubs because it was a nice change of pace to lose to the Cubs when it mattered. Her husband (southern Indiana raised) differed but I acknowledged that the Cubs being competitive wasn't a bad thing.

However, she kept on with it being good that a "rivalry" now had some meaning, and that "loveable loser" was no longer the appropriate tag. Her husband started laughing at her and asked me who I truly supported.

"The White Sox, and whomever beats the Cubs are my favorite two teams" I responded.

She kept on, "Aw you can't really mean that, the Cubs are good from Chicago."

My response, "They just took two of your best players! Not being from Chicago, this Cubs kicking in your precious Cardinals heads will get old by the middle of next season."

Her husband roared wth derisive laughter.

She then made her third reference to fellatio and how it should be performed (not by her).
