PETA slams Obama's plan to go on Bear Grylls reality show
On Dec. 17 at 10 p.m. ET, the network will unveil a special episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls featuring the 44th president of the United States. Shot while Obama visited Alaska this summer, the installment will see Obama observing the effects of climate change with the survival expert before heading out into the woods and receiving some tips on how to last more than a few hours in the wilderness.
PETA was none too pleased when the news was first announced. “This internationally condemned program, on which women have been bullied into slitting a baby pig’s throat and eating a mouse soaked in urine, is the last place for the 44th president to be seen,” said PETA President Ingrid Newkirk in a statement. “There are far better ways to get the message about global climate change out than by appearing on this disgusting show.”
Running Wild has previously tested the survival skills of such famous folks as Kate Winslet, Kate Hudson, Zac Efron, and Channing Tatum.
