looks like Long can only play G at a high level of competence

They found an equally good guard as a low level free agent in Slauson.

I think Long is going to be fine at Tackle. A lot of his mistakes seem mental, physically he seems like he can more than hold his own there. It's not like he's getting overpowered or routinely getting beat. It seems like he's playing well but is making a few glaring errors a game. He's probably the least of your concerns going forward offensively.

He was never wrong. Premium position players were available in Eifert, Floyd or Rhodes. Other guys I didn't have any opinion on like Trufant and Hopkins who've become really good players were availabe as well.

That is exactly my take on this situation.

Of all the problems the Bears need to be focused on, Long is not one of them. He will be fine.

Giving up two sacks and a number of other pressures per game is routinely being beat by NFL standards. He looked like a free agent yesterday, not a first round pick.

His play the last two weeks with two good hands has been abysmal.

Hub cant be wrong in this situation. He has taken both sides of the issue at this point.

Hub was wrong as hell about the muscle hamster.....he would always say he had a stretch of a few good games and that was it.

This year, Doug Martin has run for over 1300 yards.

I believe if you dig deeper Martin might be #1 in yards after initial contact!
