I do not think Dan is getting the idea of NIH or anyone studying for a way to identify CTE related issues in live people. He seems all geeky and happy that it is his belief that they will find "some" evidence in some way of this damage or protein in virtually all football players should they ever get such a test. Yet he continues that does not mean they will ever get CTE symptoms as everyone has different biology and there are certain "other" pathways that lead down the road to CTE.

Well Dan, it wouldn't do much good to study and test for something that in your belief all players will have. The idea of the study should/would be to find the certain other pathways or markers that lead to the actual CTE problems. That is if you can ever distinguish them from normal dementia, depression and whatever else people get.

He takes his medical journal fanboy glee too far too fast. At least when discussing with Hub the Hubster knows to say that he cannot "get too far out over his skis" on this topic. So Dan waits for Hub to get off and goes right where he wanted to all along on the topic.

I don't think he is either lonely or unhappy. His career might not be exactly what he wanted but it is still pretty great. He probably needs to stick it out for another six or so years and he will have been able to be there for all the important moments in his children's lives while making enough to live incredibly comfortably. Maybe one the kids get in to college he will push for something a little different but be satisfied if nothing more materializes.

ugh, listened day-late to a podcast hour and was reminded they suck ass at talking Bulls. To be fair to myself, I like Steve Aschburner so I was tuning in for that appearance. But man...

Dan: the only way you can get a championship is to get LeBron, and GarPax tried to do that, so really there's nothing they can do.

Terry: it doesn't matter who's running the team because the brand is strong so stars will just want to come here or not

(they also mentioned the Melo pursuit as equivalent to the LeBron one, to which he's not nearly as good, and that GarPax DIDN'T clear enough cap room to sign him, they wanted him to take a massive pay cut to fit in the room they did have)

(and also of course there's more than just 'creating flexibility and hope a Free Agent comes' way to build rosters. Like a trade, something they haven't done in literally 5 years)
