North asked him a few tough questions but he chickened out by not asking the appropriate follow up questions. North also made the idiot comment that Dusty can't coach a team without a big time slugger like Sosa or Bonds. Pappy they have a guy on like that. His name is Derick Lee you idiot.

What?? One very good year for Lee and some slightly above years for Ramirez does not equal Barry Bonds. Typical. Maybe you guys think they could trade Patterson for Manny Ramirez and Neifi for Ortiz. Overestimate some more why don't you.

Im not saying that Lee is going to repeat last year but North said that he has had Bonds and Sosa his whole managing career and thats why he has won. Believe it or not, Lee had a Bonds type year last year and I was just pointing out that North failed to recognize that.

Go ahead and make the argument that Aramis Ramirez is not considered a "big time slugger".

If a 27 year old player whose last 2 years are:

.318 36 103 .373OBP
.302 31 92 .358 in only 123 games

is not a big time slugger, well, I guess we are working on different definitions of the term.

I think he was referring to the HOF numbers that Sosa/Bonds have put up while under Baker (not saying Baker is responsible for this). Lee and Ramirez are both all-star players, but they haven't stacked multiple seasons like those 2 'roid heads.

Yes, I'm not saying Lee is a hall of famer but last year he had a Bonds type year. Why can't you people understand my point

Sosa never hit 50 HR under Baker.

Let me try and rephrase - Whether it's Sosa or Bonds, he had two players who have carried their teams for years. Now, it's true that Sosa's best years were behind him when Baker got there, but he's still viewed as a HOF caliber player. I think the difference with Lee is the perception, and time will tell, that last season was a career year, and he won't match that again.

It's also a slight dig at Baker's reputation of winning only with veteran teams, and being unwilling to break in younger ballplayers.

But my point is that Baker had a player that carried the team in Lee. Obviouly Baker didn't win with that type of player. Thus it makes Pappy's point stupid. Don't get me wrong I think Baker is a lousy manager. But Pappy made a stupid comment.

I think we all can end this debate agreeing on two main points. Both North and Baker are over paid idiots with no talent.

I think we're pretty close on the baseball argument with Lee....He definitely did have a Bonds type season.

Baker does seem to be a tool as well...I still think North is good when focused, but he's still got too many things besides sports going on..It's gotten better though.

I would debate you on these points as well.
