Not only was he the hero in the Donnie Moore game a lot of people forget he should've iced Game 6 with his home run in the Schiraldi game . Good player, liked him.

One of my buddies moved to Seattle in the '90s and did some work on his house. My guy doesn't really follow sports and didn't know who he was, so I gave him the whole background on him. Henderson was pretty impressed after my guy told him all he knew and Hendu gives my guy a Mariners jersey and my guy gives it to mutual friend because he's "Mr. Baseball."

Turns out Mr. Baseball didn't really know who he was.

Yep. He would have been a GOD in Boston. He probably lost out most of anyone other than Buckner

Was this guy on the Cubs at some point?

EDIT: Thinking of Steve Henderson. Cubs also had Ken Henderson a year earlier.

Chicago Cubs[edit]
Henderson batted .293 with five home runs and 35 RBIs during the 1981 strike shortened season. His production fell off considerably the following season, as he batted only .233, and found himself sharing playing time in left field with Keith Moreland and Jay Johnstone. Following the season, he was traded to the Seattle Mariners for Rich Bordi.

Remember him as a solid ballplayer mostly with the A's when they had that powerhouse team. Sorry to hear that he passed so young.
