Dazed and Confused was entertaining and nothing more. The fact someone needs to link on to that is amazing. Just make a different version of a current stoner movie...or does that not play with todays kids and you would need an ADDY /H /METH movie to get them to like it?

Its better than a lot of movies people hold up as classics (Like Fast Times or Breakfast Club)

The biggest problem with this movie is that it really has no point.

It's a decent movie but it doesn't really seem to have a theme outside of "Remember how fun it was in high school to get drunk and high?"

I don't think he even really changed that much. He pretty much just figured out he didn't care much about football.
I watched it last year and thought it sucked.

It wasnt that he didnt care about football, it was about how choices get taken away when you enter adulthood.

McConaghy's lines about that are correct even if hilarious.

that was actually what i really liked about it. it was one of the few high school movies that felt like i was watching high school kids.

some of hughes' movies aren't aging well. he had a very annoying tendency to allow his actors to mug the camera too much. i still like "home alone", "planes, trains", "ferris", and "breakfast club" is probably his best. but stuff like "sixteen candles", "weird science", and "pretty in pink" are very dated.

They are dated because you are an adult male.
