That doesn't make sense. One's a naïve, dreamy, baby-faced slugger, and the other is a surly, drunk, rough-looking lefty who hit for average.

Agreed, she's pretty cute. It's not like he's looking for a supermodel in a wife.

I would also imagine that when someone is famous, there is comfort in knowing that their spouse knew them and dated them before they were rich and famous.

It'll definitely make it easier for him when he has to hand her 80 million in a few years .

Mr. Bryant, your wife includes in her pleadings that she was required to forego a career in order to help you get through the minors (including those difficult 8 games in 2015) and therefore should be considered a full partner in your career earnings.

I dunno, nothing on his wikipedia page about it, and the community usually isn't shy about celebrating their own. Also no mysterious time out of the country, though maybe they give special dispensation to athletes, who knows. Ask a Mormon thread forthcoming, I guess.

Kyle Farnsworth was a Mormon, though he was about as good a Mormon as he was a pitcher.

he is a good two shoes that can hit a baseball. It is what it is.

The dorky good guy thing plays well on the national stage.

Just like the Bryce Harper Bad Boy thing does.

Let me just add in Gallo again

How did these guys lose a Little League game?

Maybe his accountant told him to be a mormon or maybe he grew up in a Mormon household, but nothing about that guy was a Mormon!

I have a feeling that one of the overly invested Ligueluminati in this thread has banged a few too many Dicaros and /or has kids with one.

Derek Jeter is the blueprint for all MLB players. He got the best of the best but never broke a heart. When it was over and he was at the highest point of recognition he found himself a young beauty with whom to settle down.

Yankees win again. Glorious.

The next generation never learned.

Bryant is a different type of guy. Rather than boozing it up and chasing tail, he doesn't drink alcohol at all and is in love with a woman he describes as his best friend for the past 8 years. A fool? Maybe he has things in much better perspective than most. Maybe he is mature beyond his years and rather than wasting his potential, he will realize his full potential as an athlete and a man. Crazy thought, but who knows....I wish I had been as mature at that age. I wish them the best of luck.
