Would Todd Collins qualify for it?

For the QB position is should be called the "Clint Longley" award or the "Eric Hipple" award.

You can only receive the award upon completing your third suprisingly good game.

on the flip side, when a QB does terrible against the bears (those games are few and far between) they should call it the Grossbomb award.

Don't the logistics of the award suggest that the once-in-a-career effort by said player has to happen in a game vs the Bears? The reason The Edgar Bennett Award is named the Edgar Bennett Award is because of his effort against the Beloved (an effort that actually propelled him to a contract with the Bears the following season. Mind blowing!)

While Frank Reich is a natural for the spirit of the award, his playoff effort against the Oilers is what made him famous. Thus, I summarily dismiss his name being given to the award in this town - they can call it The Reich Award in Houston.

I'm with Evergreen Tommy - The Todd Collins Award has been introduced to us.

Next issue....

Mr. Mc Laughlin, is the "bailout" of the subprime mortgage industry a precedent that will send every bad investor searching for government intervention?

Unfortunately, these days any player be it a running back, wide receiver or quarterback-is likely to have a big day against the Bears. Maybe there should be an award given to a player who has the distinction of producing inferior numbers against the Bears. Any player who produces numbers LOWER than his yearly and career averages, should have an award given to him. Perhaps the "Hey buddy, time to retire award" or something like that.

Does his defensive counterpart get the Al "Bubba" Baker award? Or does the lowest performer of the day get the 'Jiggs' award?
