I was at a wrestling meet at Hersey in 1992. Dave Corzine had many of records posted in the gym. That's all I got about Corzine.

I did miss it.

So we have a vote that Noah was simply a very good player but not really important in Bulls history. If that is the consensus then he isn't overloved.

I said best center in a couple generations. I'd say it's important in Bulls history.

He isn't important enough for consideration for the Bulls hall of fame though?

This. Plus he was a large part of the most fun era of Bulls basketball since Jordan (when Rose was healthy). Always seemed like a great dude who was really good to fans. Hard not to like him.

I love Noah because he came into the league as an entitled, attention whoring dickbag. It took him about a year to realize that he wanted to be a basketball player rather than a media figure but when he made that decision, he transformed himself. Love that guy.

I wasn't aware that there was a Bulls Hall of Fame. They retire jerseys but I wouldn't put him at that level.

Couple generations? Chandler and Gasol and Ben Wallace are all better than Noah career wise.

I said the best center the franchise has had in a couple generations. Do you think the Raptors consider Hakeem Olajuwon the center in franchise history?

I'll be honest. I can't really tell how you are valuing Noah.

You called him a very good player who was also important in Bulls history. Is that true for people like Hinrich and Ben Gordon?

I think I've been pretty clear with how I would rank him.

1. He's not a HOF'er.
2. He doesn't deserve a jersey retired or statue.
3. He's the best center the franchise has had in a couple generations. He has his place in team history, but special things like numbers being retired and statues should only be handed out to HOF-type players.

I would put him in the Hall of Very Good. Hinrich and Ben Gordon wouldn't even be allowed to buy tickets to the Hall of Very Good.

There is no actual HOF of course but if there was one for the Bulls I'd put him in there. Agree with you on everything else.

Kirk Hinrich has the franchise record in 3PM while having an above average 3P% throughout his career. He was a reliable PG, especially during his first tenure and even after that was solid defensively until the last couple of seasons.

He might be the second best Bulls PG in the last couple of decades.

Hall of Very Good

Considering the Bools are owned by JR, why don't they just build statues for their honored players?

Noah in Bulls all-time rankings:
Minutes - 9th
Games - 9th
Rebounds - 4th
D Rebounds - 4th
O Rebounds - 1st
Blocks - 3rd
Steals - 8th
Offensive win shares - 6th
Defensive win shares - 5th
Overall win shares - 5th
Defensive Box plus/minus - 2nd
Box plus/minus - 4th

And perhaps the best stat:

Value over replacement player - 3rd (behind MJ and Scottie)

2-time All-Star
Defensive Player of the Year
5th in MVP Voting

I'd say that's Hall of Very Good

Hall of Very Good

He's never made an All-NBA team or won any kind of meaningful award.

Franchise leader in 3-pointers means nothing. The game has changed a ton in the past 25 years. I'm sure if you look at other franchises there will be other ridiculous people leading that category.

You can make a similar list for Kirk Hinrich and Luol Deng and if he plays long enough Taj Gibson.

None of that bothers me. We're talking about the Hall of Very Good, not the Hall of Extremely Exceptional.

He had enough solid to good years with the Bulls that it puts him up near the top of Bulls PG's, especially over the last few decades.

No plaque. No bust. No retired number. He doesn't deserve that.

But Kirk Hinrich was a very good Chicago Bull. He was the first guy in place on the team's road to respectability starting in 2003. He was extremely important in some of those early playoff appearances and was productive in those games.

Luol Deng is also in the Hall of Very Good. That is a case more simple than Noah or Hinrich.

Just saying things does not make them so. You could make a similar list for Luol Deng, who I would also consider to be in the Hall of Very Good. He is fourth all-time in scoring behind three great scorers. You could not make a list that is comparable for Hinrich or Taj Gibson (the latter is laughable - Gibson is basically the same age as Noah).

I looked it up. You can.

Hinrich in all-time rankings:
Games: 3rd
Minutes played: 4th
Field Goals: 9th
3 Point Field Goals: 1st
Assists: 3rd
Steals: 3rd
Points: 8th
Defensive win shares: 7th
Win Share: 10th

And perhaps the best stat:
Value over replacement player: 8th

I only mentioned Gibson because he is starting to show up some of those lists too.

I agree with all of this as well, except for Deng's case being simpler than Noah's. I think the DPOY award for Noah gives him a slight edge over Deng. Doesn't matter anyway to me since Noah and Deng are obvious candidates for the Hall of Very Good. Hinrich is there as well but maybe not as a first ballot HOF'er. By the way, is the hypothetical Chicago Bulls Hall of Very Good the same as the hypothetical Chicago Bulls Hall of Fame?
