Perhaps it will be one of the items on display in the new Cubs plaza that is being built outside the ballpark. I'm sure there will be a number of historical items on display there, in the shops and bar area. I'm guessing that would be a destination for it. The 2016 World Series trophy might be another....

They could put all sorts of stuff in there. The Nets to protect people from the crumbling stadium, Leon Durham's gloves, Bartman's headphones, the divot Schwarber took up while attempting to make a catch, Santo's sympathy cards.....oh wait...

It brings me joy to think about how painful the next decade are going to be for you Frank. You are Jorr. Watching the Cubs dominate as they will. Winning World Series titles . Watching your South Side team flounder and interest in them reaching an all-time low, as Chicago embraces the Cubs to a greater extent than ever before. The celebrations of World Series titles, grander than any celebration ever staged by any team before. Oh, it will be glorious and you will have to suffer through it all.

I never go to Wrigley Field and think "I'm in Disney World."

You're confused, son. Balls bouncing off Kyle Schwarber's skull in the playoffs weren't the slightest bit painful for me. I'm sure it may have been painful for you. And Schwarber. Wait 'til next year!

Schwarber will be at the very least, an average LF with above average offensive skills.

Obviously the people who put it in plexiglass like it was a museum piece did.

Or....they may have removed it from the scoreboard to keep any fans thinking of making a Mission Impossible style break-in to the top of the scoreboard to remove it, from considering it....

Only in Cubs fandom would that be a plausible threat for a ball hit in the fucking Divisional Series by a player for a team that got fucking annihilated in the next round.

So why not just take it away the next day?

Why did they ever put it in plexiglass? .....because it was a pretty impressive blast in a pretty important game. The plexiglass probably seemed like a good idea initially. But then they realized it was probably something a fan would make an attempt to swipe if it was left there on the scoreboard in the plexiglass. They don't want someone getting hurt trying to climb up there. Like I said, it will probably find a place in the new plaza building under construction. They will probably have all kinds of historical memorabilia on display there.

No, it went away because it was a stupid thing to do. They wanted to turn it into some sort of "Cubbie Lore" thing. They probably were going to have special tours to it.

No. They did it with the Bartman ball, because there was a negative memory attached to that one. This one has a positive memory, so no reason to blow it up.

If you have the means to break into Wrigley Field and scale the scoreboard, I don't think the little Plexiglas box is gong to stop you.
