That's a good album, but Let It Die is better.

I'm listening to the Ditty Bops. Been checking out this band today because the name caught my eye. It's two lesbians who sing strummy ragtimey songs together, so basically a cross between Django Reinhardt and the Indigo Girls. The end result is more or less Prairie Home Companion featured-artist music.

Wishful Thinking, but not the Wilco song.

Yeah, I'm disappointed.

There are 3-4 decent songs on the album, but unfortunately all of the songs with a heavy Auerbach influence are just...not good. Trouble, How Are You True, and Portuguese Knife Fight are the standouts I'd say. It certainly isn't a bad album. But it can't hold a candle to Melophobia.

Was never really into these guys but my SO knew Lemmy from a few years back and she was pretty sad to see that he had passed...These are a couple of amazing cuts I am just discovering.

Good to see that, upon searching the site, my friend Ike Reilly is getting some appreciation. Easily one of the best bands nobody knows about. I was supposed to see him at Mickey Finn's this past Monday night but the weather kept the baby sitter away and us stuck at home.

Here's a song he wrote for his son...It was subsequently used as the theme of the Chris Farley movie.

A song he was able to get Shooter Jennings to record with him...I was at this show at Lincoln Hall a few years back

This is a terrific album.

Ike Reilly is insanely talented. Saw him at Kryptonite in Rockford around 2006 along with about 10-15 other people who were in attendance. It was like he was playing in someone's basement.

Have you heard any of that Westerberg/Hatfield stuff? It's like 1910 Fruitgum Company.

Hmm, don't have that one, just Push Barman to Open Old Wounds as far as b-sides/rarities go. Gotta love "Lazy Line Painter Jane"!

I love that album, especially "Maps," but it's such a summer album for me, I couldn't listen to it today!

Love Men at Work. After they split up, Colin Hay had a minor hit which I loved but it quickly disappeared. Thanks to Youtube I can enjoy it again.

Been listening to this non stop for the past 2 weeks or so. Fantastic album. Apparently I'm not alone in feeling that way since it won CMA album of the year and is nominated for several Grammys as well.
