Mets
DBacks
Nats
Pirates
Dodgers
Giants
Cardinals
Cubs

All formidable teams that I could see winning the pennant. Seems like there are a lot of good teams. More than other years. Maybe its just me

Terrible thread. Cubs will coast.

Alot of good but then alot of bad with hardly any average. Could you name one team in the AL that you know for sure will be complete dogshit? I can't.

The Cubs will probably win about 90. Whether that's enough to make the playoffs, I can't say, but too much went right for them to win 97. They won't do that again, and definitely won't win 98+.

Mets are good.
DBacks have just caused parity in the West. They'll beat each other up.
Nats will be better but won't pass the Mets.
Pirates are the same.
Dodgers didn't get better. Also, parity.
Giants didn't improve as much as some think.
Cardinals got worse.
Cubs got better.

Stop it. Just stop yourself. Get all of that levelheadedness and making sense outta here.

I like how IMU talks about parity in the NL West and how those teams will beat up on each other, yet he conveniently leaves out that the same damn thing applies to the CUBBIES division.

I'm pretty sure that both leagues will have teams that win under 80 games.

Dodgers and Giants are not good.

Power Rankings in N.L.

1. Washington
2. Chicago
3.Mets
4.Zona
5. Pittsburgh
6. St. Louis

It could be that watching MLB network in the offseason they are all sunshine and roses for each team.

The parity in the west will help in the regular season but whoever comes out of there will be tough. DBacks just scare me with Goldschmidt and Pollock being maybe the two of best all around players in the league and with the pitching they've added.

I threw the Cardinals in because they are the Cardinals but even taking them out, that's a lot of quality teams.

But will the AL be 34 games over vs. the NL again?

I dont think so. That's the point. THere is way more good than bad

Padres
Phillies
Reds
Brewers

Those are the only ones who are set up for down years (and one of them will surprise and be decent)

But as you said in the other thread, it will come down to injuries and quality depth.

Any of those teams could surprise and do good. That's my point.

In the NL you have the Phillies, Braves, Reds, Brewers and Rockies just waiting to give everyone free wins.

I think the Padres will have a respectable season.

The problem the Cubs face this year is that the Brewers and Reds will suck less than the Marlins and Braves. The Braves may lose 110 games. That means if you don't win the Central, you're probably fighting for the 2nd WC because the Nats and Mets should be locks to get the #3 division and #1 WC in some sequence. So the Cubs and Pirates will be fighting for the #2 seed and the #2 WC.

Arizona is going to romp through the West and get the overall #1 seed. That may be the Cubs downfall, because the Cubs generally play like shit at Chase Field.

Polock, dipshit

I was talking about the player on the D'Backs A.J. Pollock.

Not the inventor of helicopter ejection seats

The whole National League was a year early.

I think the Cardinals are set up for a down year.

Special exemption for them. They sometimes win WS in their down years (06)

I thought this was a joke with reference to the AL spending like a quarter billion more in salaries.

Nope, it's legit. Money doesnt equal winning. Especially poorly spent money.

Teams in World Series started 2015 13th and 15th in payroll

AL seems older. NL has more young stars who havent gotten the payday yet

assuming everything going right for every team, this is the year of the Nats. Had a great team already, hired Dusty who always produces results initially...the Nats will be the 03 Cubs, the 02 Giants. Question is whether they can get to the WS or get stuck in the NLCS. Remember this rotation: Wainwright, Wacha, Martinez and Leake.

The Cubs could make some noise but the Mets would have to fall apart.
