Stop it. Just stop yourself. Get all of that levelheadedness and making sense outta here.

I like how IMU talks about parity in the NL West and how those teams will beat up on each other, yet he conveniently leaves out that the same damn thing applies to the CUBBIES division.

Yeah, just like last year when no one in the Central won more than 90 games because they were beating each other up. Oh wait...

On paper I agree, Nats are #1 .. But that guarantees nothing.. Did you have the Mets vs Royals last year?

I think the Mets are set up to be the big disappointment team this year in a perfectly Metsie way

I could see Cespedes sucking

I had Royals Nats. Still can't believe how much impact a manager can have, apparently.

So how many wins do you think the Cubs have next year?

Jenny, there's not a whole lot of room above 97

And its the opposite. I like the Cubs moves but Im just pointing out these other teams are improving too.

Maybe its just me but I think I fall into this trap where in my mind I want my team to be able to beat the best of 2015 cause that's who eliminated the Cubs. But that's not who they will be facing this year. I realize it's a little silly.

The last time the Cubs won more than 97 games was in 1945 and that doesn't really count as it was the 4F team. So you really have to go back to 1935. But I'm sure 2016 is the year.

The BIG difference is the DH at home in AL parks in 2015

The AL went 88-62 (+26) at home using the DH and 74-70 (+4) without the DH.

Only 4 NL teams (D=Backs, Cubs, Pirates and Padres) had a winning record in AL parks.

The Marlins went 7-3 without the DH and 0-10 with a DH. The Padres interestingly were 0-7 at home...maybe they should switch leagues.

The worst AL teams on the road were Orioles 2-5 and the Angeles 3-7.
The DH did not help a few AL teams (White Sox 3-7, Astros 3-7 and Rays 3-7 while using the DH.

So if the AL plays all road interleague games, then the NL might have a chance of owning a better head to head record.

make the NL use a DH and the AL bat the pitcher just to be fair.

"correlation does not imply causation"

AL STILL had a winning record on the road. While the winning record was not as great as the winning record at home, it should not expected to be so. The winning road record is probably even stronger evidence of superiority than the home record.

Except the bottom teams in the Central are much worse than the bottom teams in the West. The top teams in the Central are better than the top teams in the West. And finally... 2015. Top three records were in the Central and the Cardinals and Reds have clearly gotten worse without the Brewers or Pirates getting appreciably better.

So...WYC

Actually...it isn't that you're crapping anyone. You simply type insanely dumb baseball thoughts extremely quickly before you can even process the implications in your dome.

Dodgers didn't get better. Also, parity.
Giants didn't improve as much as some think.
Cardinals got worse.
Cubs got better.

Pirates are the same??? They lose A.J. Burnett who retired, lose half their infield (Pedro Alvarez and Neil Walker)in trades because they needed to save money on the salary Walker was already making and Alvarez was slated to make through arbitration. They also lost Antonio Bastardo who was a pretty nice piece in their bullpen. 4-1 with a 2.98 ERA and a save. But yeah....half the infield, a key starter and reliever...really just the same??

Cardinals were weakened. The Nationals will be much better and will pass the Mets and win the East. Giants did improve and will be a playoff team again.

Yes, the National league is loaded and it will be an interesting year. Fortunately for the Cubs, the Brewers and Reds are both weaker teams than they were starting out in 2015. That will also benefit the Cardinals and Pirates, but to a lesser extent, as they are both teams that will be weaker than they were in 2015. The Cubs will be better and win 100 plus games, providing there are not multiple major injuries to key players.
