Maybe they can trade him now.

Nice find. So that's Gasol, Noah, and Butler whove all said basically the same thing. And by same thing I mean Hoiberg is in way over his head. He cannot oversee excellence on the bball court. Thibs set a high bar. The next 2-3 years will suck.

1 conf. finals makes for the setting of a high bar?

Nope. He has probably been their best player over the past month. They need to redefine Butler's role. The bad shooting performancestars are beginning to pile up. Always a bad 3 point shooter. 30% fast approaching Josh Smith territory.

LTG, Thibs didn't make excuses of injuries. He had Joakim Noah running point-center and nearly beat the Heat, for Christ sake.

These guys have mailed n more games this season then the first four seasons under Thibbs combined. I don't count last year since Garpax told Noah and Rose Thibbs wouldn't be coming back and undermined him.

They only won one game that series as I recall. Hoiberg isn't making excuses either.

Yes. For the roster he had one conf finals was the best they could possibly do. We've already debated this and both agreed that except for Thibs' last season the Bulls finished where they should have finished given the roster for each year. You want to amend that now? I think not underperforming every year is setting a high bar. It's efficient and means you get everything you can out of the roster.

Can you identify two things that are terrible about the job that Hoiberg is doing?

Hoiberg is in over his head and so are his bosses.

I am so thankful I was alive for the Bulls glory days because I don't think I'll ever see another title.

Butler, Gasol, and Noah have done a better job explaining whats wrong about Hoiberg than I could ever do. I'll just repeat their quotes more or less:

On court dysfunction (Noah and Gasol have alluded to this): For whatever reason Hoiberg's offensive vision hasn't come to fruition yet. The parts look mismatched for the product he wants to produce.

Loss of identity (Noah): Opponents no longer fear fighting tooth and nail for every point against the Bulls like they used to.

The Bulls defensive stats and Imu will love this are actually better than they were last yr.

I really don't think he is force feeding his system either. They don't take a lot of threes. The parts do appear mismatched. Snell McDermott nor Mirotic have taken the " next step". That's the biggest problem and that falls on Paxson. Gibson is garbage and he is your starting 4 man. People that like him won't admit that's why I'm doing it. He has very little impact if any on games. Etwaun Moore I repeat Etwaun Moore is your starting 2 guard. Enough said

Should of changed the they to I. Tonight's performance by Butler was bad. Just jacked up shots and made no attempt to rebound or get an assist.

It's more than just personnel. Listen to the players. They are speaking out. Not exactly the kind of thing you'd hear if the coach was someone they believed in. Bulls gave up 97 last year and 91 two years ago. 100 this year.

The comments players make to the media are enough to tell us Hoiberg has no control and the inmates are running the asylum. He won't be here more than two years, IMO.

I'm glad you mentioned that. Butler is really beginning to show just how selfish he is as a player. I think the Gasol comments were meant for him.

He forces shots whenever he hasn't touched the ball in awhile. He does it every game. You remove the Gasol alley oops to him and his percentage would be even worse today.

I agree with you on Butler, LTG. But that's also an indictment of Hoiberg.

The players wanted Thibs gone last yr. And were criticized for it now they have credibility?

He does need to reel the guy in. That's the first thing he has to do if he wants to establish himself.

And when he leaves after failing spectacularly, GarPax need to be following him out the door.

It's more than just Butler being out of line. LYK has the right perspective I think: Hoiberg's control over the locker room is shaky, as evidenced by on the court play and player criticism, and Butler's selfishness is a consequence of that dysfunction rather than a cause, as you seem to imply. Players are criticizing more than just Butler and its Hoiberg's job anyway to fix that. And to establish himself will take more than just bringing Butler back into line. He needs to have the Bulls playing at a level that produces nothing less than a two seed in the east. Given the experience (including post season) and talent on the roster, that's where the Bulls need to be. So far they seem hollow. They're a quick out in the first or second round.

Your talent is not that superior if Moore and Gibson are starting. That's very apparent. I think Butler's selfishness is a result of him getting his money and having some success on the court. I think he does the same thing if Thibs is the coach. Rose was extremely undisciplined with Thibs as coach last season. You can't just put that on his lame duck status either.

If the players really believed in Thibs they would not have folded as they did last season. They would have fought harder to save his job. They didn't and it spoke volumes about how they felt about him.

The Bulls fought hard for Thibs for 4/5 years he was here. No drama either except with Rose.

The players were told by GarPax Thibbs was getting fired regardless of what they did last season.

Thibs won with that crap. They looked like they should be a lottery team but somehow he turned Augustine into a great scorer just like he did with Nate Robinson.

I don't blame Hoiberg because he doesn't have the coaching experience. GarPax told us that the roster was a coach away from a championship and then they essentially hire Hoiberg in December even though he has a system that doesn't fit this roster.

It really wasn't that hard. The East was a worse conf. Than it is this yr. Better teams top to bottom. Miami was good and that was it. Indiana was a fraud.

You persist with the name calling. It's obvious I can spell dumbass. That's a common abbreviation for the word but I don't know why I'd expect you to know that.
