Not a big Eagles fan but never disliked them either. He had a great voice and put out a lot of great music...RIP.

Irving Azoff claims Eagles man's colitis and pneumonia were "side effects"
Glenn Frey's death can be partly blamed on medication he was taking for arthritis, the Eagles' manager has claimed.

Frey died this week at the age of 67, with his family and bandmates saying in a statement he succumbed to "complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia."

The band's manager Irving Azoff says the medication Frey was taking to deal with the arthritis played a part.

Azoff tells The Wrap: “The colitis and pneumonia were side effects from all the meds. He died from complications of ulcer and colitis after being treated with drugs for his rheumatoid arthritis which he had for over 15 years.”

in a related story Azoff announced a joint venture with Squib pharmaceutical company to manufacture commemorative rheumatoid arthritis pills with the Eagles logo on them

I am not sure how right he is but he is in the ballpark. The rheumatoid arthritis and colitis are auto immune diseases. The treatments he likely took would lower his immune system to counteract them. That in turn made him more susceptible to the pneumonia.

It's not a mashup. It's part 10 of an educational documentary series of great historical import.

Yeah, but Yacht Rock is terrible

I hope someone gently raps you in the yambag.

Whether you like the Eagles are not I highly recommend the Eagles documentary on Netflix. Fantastic stuff. If you don't have time to watch it here is the summary....The Eagles consisted of two extremely talented musicians/song writers, 1 crazy fun loving guitar player and then a revolving door of untalented jealous malcontents who tried to ruin the whole thing. And then about 6 months before they broke up they added some poor schmuck who worked his whole life in minor bands before finally getting called up to the Eagles only to show up just in time to watch the final implosion.

I watched "History of the Eagles" over the weekend. They will always be near the top of the most overrated band list for me, but they have some great songs and their vocal work is arguably the best in rock. This documentary was really, really, really interesting...lots of tidbits I didn't know. It very much confirmed that Don Henley really is a little bitch and I love the career spanning pissing match between Glenn Frey and Don Felder. Good stuff.

i love Joe Walsh but "Life In the Fast Lane" makes me want to put my head through a window.

Give "Help Me Through The Night" by Walsh a listen. About his young daughter dying. Beautiful song.

87.7 was on at the pool this morning for a change and "Ride Like the Wind" came on. So tempting to cup my ear and do my Michael McDonald impression. SUCH A LONG WAY TO GOOOO

Damn...never knew that's what the song was about. One of my favorites on the Hell Freezes Over DVD.
