I'm sure if you dedicate some time, you can coach Frank through the explanation.

Probably the same guy who told me that 11-1 is better then 4-0

I know when I went to school 1.000 > .917 but you know it's the new math.

Sometimes 1-11 is better than 4-0. It all depends on the WHIP and ERA.

How about run support and WAR... sorry had to do it.

We are talking about postseason teams.

Thanks for trying though.

11-1.

Got it.

so it is not EVER the caveat is since 1995

1999 Yankees 11-1

so there ya have it the 2005 White Sox are one of the TOP 2 post season teams since 1995.

Thanks for clarifying.
It is ever.

It is simple. The White Sox also swept the World Series. So, none of those teams are better.

The 70s Reds went 7-0 while the White Sox went 8-1. So, an argument could be made they were better. That would mean you don't value the Division Series sweep though, and as we learned, it is worthy of putting a home run from the Division Series in plexiglass because it was that important.

So, equal to the Yankees, and probably behind the Reds team.

That is all that matters.

Sure there are better regular season teams but they were not better in the playoffs, besides the Reds that one year.

The only equation that is relevant is 2005>1908

So kind of like what MLB did to Roger Maris when he hit more HRs then the Babe...they put an * after Maris 61* since Babe did it in 154 and Maris did it in 162.

If you want to put the * behind the Sox, Reds, Yankees that's OK by me.

That's not really true, though. I don't believe there ever was an asterisk.

No need for that.

The White Sox went 4-0 in the World Series just like all those other teams. They also went 11-1 in the whole thing. So, none of those teams, outside of one Reds team, can lay claim to being more dominant.

Agreed. Hopefully US Cellular would be filled with balls in plexiglass!

The denial is strong in you. Even Inquisitor acknowledges they are in the conversation.
