If this was real it would be a huge story covered by actual news outlets.

He posted a status yesterday saying the flag was at half mast for the Chicago murders. Then someone (one of his many haters) went to work on photoshop.

I am uncomfortable with any display of nationalism in Catholic churches. Why should a church recognize the country of its situs? The church should be above such displays. I don't even like the recognition of national holidays like 4th of July at church.

It profanes the sacred in my opinion.

We have an American tradition of flying the flag half mast when there is some American tragedy or loss of life.....Well, With Chicago Violence in January being the worst in over 16 years, i believe we are indeed experiencing an American Tragedy and certainly a loss of LIVES....so this morning WE LOWERED OUR AMERICAN FLAG TO HALF MAST and it will remain that way until this surge of Violence STOPS...I invite other churches and schools to do the same...

Just heard a report on AM780 that the American flag was flying upside down at half mast under the Chi Raq flag. A veterans group went to protest and Pfleger took down the Chi Raq flag. I don't recall if they said the American flag is now flying right-side up.

That's not really confirmation as far as I'm concerned. It could mean that someone called in and stated the Chiraq flag was up there after having read it on Facebook. A bunch of retirees might have then grabbed their free McDonald's coffee and rushed over there to find no Chiraq flag and then took credit for Pfleger "taking it down".

Kevin Scott arrived to see the American flag at half-mast and upright Thursday morning, and the Chi-Raq flag gone.

“That tells you one thing. He knew it was wrong,” he said.

Pfleger said he told the church’s maintenance man to lower the flag to half-mast, but when the maintenance man did that, he didn’t lower the Chi-Raq flag as well. The Chi-Raq flag has since been removed, and the American flag is flying at half-staff.
