Cespedes makes Abreu the MVP , more pitches in the zone, more runs, more production from Cespedes and better defense.

Tim Lincecum is holding a showcase in early February and I hope the Sox are planning to attend. He would be a great guy to add for starting pitching depth. If Johnson continues to throw well Lincecum could be a long reliever/ swing man. Taylor Featherston was just released by the Angels and he's another guy they should kick the tires on. He's a fantastic defensive player and I think he's a better hitter than he showed last year and he's only 26 yrs old.

Love to see the Sox get in on Lincecum.

His FIP and xFIP numbers in 2014 were in line with his career averages, and pretty much the same as his 2013 figures when he posted a 3.25 ERA. That means he was extraordinarily unlucky last year.

Just so Sox fans can relate - Chris Sale posted a 3.41 ERA last season, but his FIP numbers were pretty much the same as his 2013 figures when he posted a 2.17 ERA. The defense behind him was just that bad last season.

This is a terrific signing.
