Am I hearing this correctly.

OF ALL PEOPLE, Harry, the tequila swillin', staggerin' at the end of remotes and Cub/Sox tailgates while slurring bad one liners is saying that Kyle Orton represents the Bears even when he's ON A BYE WEEKEND in Iowa? It's not right for him to be walking around with spilled booze all over his shirt?

Isn't that kind of a contradiction?

Given how Stink ran into him a few days ago, at the very least he was walking and not ditching his crashed car at 3am like a fellow teammate..

Are we still talking about what the guy did 4 years ago?

22 years old, got drafted in the NFL, making $400K plus probably got a signing bonus.

If you gave me $400K at a signing bonus at 22, I would have been a total jerk. Now I am just kind oif a jerk.

A bigger head-scratcher for me was Mac's words about Orton's appearance at the press conference.
What does that actually have to do with his ability to lead the offense and complete passes -- to his receivers?
:? :?

Danny did lose it there about Orton's appearance. He should look better for his employer but if he threw like Brady or Manning, you nor anyone would give two shits what he looked like.

Chill Danny chill! Dont sweat the small stuff!

Last time I checked Brett FavRAY looks like shit at every interview or press conference.

I'm no mathematician or mathlete per se, but 2007-2005 = 2 years ago.

Come on bigfan, last year was the ONLY year Grossman started all 16 games, just ask Jurko and Mac.

I can't recall saying it has ANYTHING to do with what he does on the field and, apparantly, that's all many Bears fan care about. I, on the other hand, would prefer my "face guys" (and the quarterback always qualifies) to be more, shall we say, presentable. I don't care about him wearing a team issued sweatshirt.... I just wish the rube would wash himself and cut his unsightly mop of hair. It's unbecoming and could cost him endorsement opportunities. He's the boob. Did I overreact? Of course I did. That's what I do sometimes. Sometimes it is endearing. Sometimes it is incredibly annoying. I suppose that depends on whose side of the argument the consumer finds himself/herself.

Never did I suggest I was right on this; it's just my conviction. I prefer "front men" in any business to look the part a bit more than Bumpkin Kyle did Monday.

I see your point Mac, but to tell you the truth, I'd rather the biggest problem with Orton be his ragged appereance over some of the other problems Bears' players have faced recently- guns, dozens of illigetimate children, abandoned sports cars, etc.

And c'mon...when was the last time a friggin Bears QB had an endorsement?!?

That is why the front men for MJH show up to remotes in tight fitting jerseys and the SCORE uniform used to be zubaz. Those outfits scream ready for business.

I guess Mac's not a Bill Belichick guy.

Only one shows up in a tight fitting jersey. I believe all three consistently are clean and appropriately groomed.

I have no memory of wearing Zubaz at remote broadcasts. I wore them to the studio -- where I was not in the public eye -- because I was too goddamn fat for pants. While guesting on Greeny's CLTV show, I made the mistake of wearing Bears Zubaz and a Platteville t-shirt after returning from camp. It was a mistake and I admitted as much soon after the fact.

Come out and play Monday in Rosemont, Good Dolphin. Unveil the man behind the curtain so all can admire.

I remember that CLTV show Mac. I think Boers wore a T-shirt, shorts and sandals without socks. It was weird. I'm one of the 10 guys that remember that show. It sticks out in my mind because of the way you guys were dressed.

Better than sandals with socks.

I hear this is rather popular in Highland.

You counting Jurko in that group. The flies that swirl around him as lifelong companions would suggest otherwise.

I really would like to be there. It is reasonably close and while it is an incredibly busy week, I'm watching the game anyway. However, I was serious about that cadillac club invite. The McClaskey's giving away something for free comes once in a blue moon, so I have to take advantage of it.

How about a new year's eve broadcast form that bar that says Mr Fun Is In on Calument in Munster?

I don't imagine Justin Time will think that bar sufficiently fits the demographic to warrant a remote.

How about the I.S. in Hammond. I'd make the time to drive down there even if there isn't a remote!

Go back to drinking and smoking Mac, you and your show has become an insufferable, arrogant bore.

You my caucasian now, Score is Doomed? Couldn't agree more. Hey Mac, I would think with the higest rated show on your station, you'd be considered "front man" for ESPN 1000? Well, the way things are going, it won't be too incredibly long until we can count your suspensions for bad behavior for being ornery on the second hand. Classy for the station's "face".
