Sours? I'll pass. Just not for me.

The most sour I go is a a gose or a saison which are mild by comparison.

I love most sour beers. Two Brothers just had Wouch Cherry Sour on tap for a few weeks. #Glorious

Kicking around the idea of an east coast August beer trip. Hit up Boston (Treehouse and Trillium), Waterbury (new Alchemist should be opened by then), and Maine (Maine Beer Co, Bissell, Foundation).

Hill Farmstead is a must.

Over the past few weeks I have tried several beers by them. They are doing some absolutely remarkable things. If they aren't the best brewery in America, I don't know who is. Trillium isn't close. Neither is Maine Beer Co. I still haven't been able to try Tree House, though.

Not a big fan of sours.....give me a great IPA, barrel aged stout or a barleywine.

How could have I forgotten Hill Farmstead? Yes, that would be on the agenda. I've had a few offerings from Hill Farmstead. Edward is amazing. Problem is with HF is that it isn't near anything. The others I listed at least had other breweries close. I would be going with my buddy who lives in New Hampshire. He's well-versed in all things NE hops.

HF is obviously pretty middle of nowhere but Parker Pie nearby usually has draft lists comparable to the better known bars around Waterbury and Montpelier and you can also hit breweries like Lost Nation and Rock Art driving between Waterbury and Greensboro Bend.

I just picked up a ticket for the KBS Week in Grand Rapids. I'll be up there on Friday 3/11.

Very nice.

Founders takeover at WOB Naperville today. KBS gets tapped at 5:00, CBS at 6:00.

Parker Pie looks like a good place, Zeph. Thanks for the heads up on that.

Redskingreg: I recently hit Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier for the first time--it's a good place to do side-by-side tastings of some of the top beers in the area. The tap list speaks for itself: http://www.threepennytaproom.com/taplist/.

Wow. Unreal. I cannot wait for my trip. I'm mentally planning the logistics of how I'm going to haul all that beer back. I've been wanting to try Focal Banger for some time. Second Fiddle is a great offering as well.

Ever just had beer for dinner? I could do that but the wife claims that would not be setting a good example for the kids.

Do you like that Haymarket beer? I'd rather go across the street and drink hop bombs from Floyds at Lone Wolf.

Some of them are pretty solid. And yeah, I think my buddy and I polished about 6-7 Zombie Dust pints at Lone Wolf before a Sox game last summer.

I went to a bachelor party and we wound up at Haymarket for one of the stops (couldn't get into Lone Wolf IIRC)...the made a Belgian style Tripel that wasn't bad. I didn't like anything else I tried there, though.

If you ever have the misfortune of being stuck in Oak Park, there is a newish place in town that is fairly pleasant. NO food though: http://www.yelp.com/biz/beer-shop-oak-p ... =beer+shop

Poor Phil's has an extensive beer list and mediocre food: http://www.yelp.com/biz/poor-phils-shell-bar-oak-park

map room - nice chill place
local option - tons of local stuff.
fischman's - sucker for bar/liquor store places

honorable mention:
