What will be the biggest story of the starting pitching rotation for 2016? Lester returns to being a stud pitcher? Arrieta has another Cy Young season? Hammel gets moved into long relief? I still don't know a lot about the pitching prospects, other than Underwood.

Just don't let it be Lester has cancer again and Arrieta's arm falls off.

I would be okay if Hammel's arm fell off.

Arietta wins 15 and Lackey morphs into EJax. The rest? Who knows.

My prediction is that the most important pitcher for the Cubs down the stretch besides Arietta isn't on the roster yet. I think they are going to swing a deal at the deadline for a significant starter. I think Lester is going to have a bounce back year and I have absolutely no idea what Lackey is going to do. I hope Hammels gets hit by a bus and then run over by a steamroller and then has a marching band walk over him

2 of 3 years Hammel had some really good first halves. Just need to be prepared for it not to last...no matter what he does in the first half.

Either Arrieta having another Cy Young type season or Lester being terrible.

Lackey breaks down physically resulting in them having to acquire a starting pitcher.

The Rangers GM sleeps well over the pitching he traded.

Arietta takes a step back
Lester has another solid year
Lackey Hendricks and Hammel will be just ok.

I think/hope this offense will murder a lot of other team's 3-4-5 pitchers.

Also, some young arms start contributing (Edwards and Johnson)

First team with 4 - 20 game winners since the 71 Orioles.

Correct. If he has another outstanding first half, they just need to be prepared to make a change in the rotation if things start to go South (wrong.....anything South is wrong) and with the depth they now have, that will not be a problem. I just love the fact they will have a solid 1-5. I look for Hendricks to step up in 2016.

Arrieta has a huge regression.

18-8, 2.50 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, only 208 IP.
