See this is just too far over the top. You have to rein it in. This will be completely dismissed because you cant help but exaggerate.

You are actually what you claim to loathe in Cub fans (delusional whenever talking about the cubs). Cub fans are much more realistic than you in these situations, ironically.
Absolutely not all of them. I might hesitate to even say the majority of them.

America's post is without question over the top. However there are some Cubs fans here (IMU for example) who are getting just as bad to the other extreme with the Cubs being so so great.

The Cubs have a really good team on paper and have a lot of talent (and money) on their roster. That is a fact. It is also a fact that the despite the many "year early" jokes, a year ago at this point the Cubs were not expected to be anything more than a fringe Wild Card contender and definitely were able to surprise a lot of people last year. This year there are expectations and the team has a target on them, so who knows how that will affect things.

The NL also has some really good teams, which means there is probably going to be at least one 90 win team that does not make the play offs/in game. What the Cubs did last year does not mean anything once the season starts, and the postseason is promised to nobody.

Yeah, I just like to rely on my memory instead of Google. I thought they lost the Minnesota series. Anyway, THE INQUISITOR understood my point. He's just being obstinate.

Agreed. Now that's settled and I trust the whole Cub Sox thing will be put to rest

I'm loathe to do this, but I have to stick up for IMU here. As far as Cub fans go he's generally reasonable. Sure, he trolls on occasion, but he's nowhere near the top levels of Cub fan hype and ridiculousness.

I agree that usually this is the case. Taking away the trolling, he has gotten quite a bit worse over the past couple of months.

I didn't interpret it as crowing, just someone calling JORR out on more of his endless piles of bullshit that he drags all around the Cubs forum.

Really? So you think going .500 against the AL Central is the sign of a great team?

Where did I say that going .500 against the AL Central is the sign of a great team? Just use the quote function to show where I said that.

Putting aside what a great team is, I do think winning 97 games is a sign that you've got a lot of good things going on at the major league level.

I did understand but was just pointing out that JORRs clear eyed view of the Cubs is still in off season mode... once camp officially opens he will be as focused and clear eyed as ever.

I am amazed a man of your ilk even responds to him....now, if you had some serious free time and wanted to kill an hour just having him post crazy UFO, Bigfoot, tinfoil room responses, I can see the value in it for all of us...but you cant have a real discussion with a guy who thinks almost everything is a conspiracy.

and at that they were LUCKY... 13 walk off wins= unsustainable.

Ricketts has that horseshoe in the right place...

a list of his luck

He gets the Cubs after JR blackballs Cuban
Gets Theo after the beer and chicken collapse
The state won't give him a bond incentive so he funds the Wrigley rebuild himself ..CHA CHING
WGN opts out of contract and he gets more from CBS
Maddon gets out of TB deal that even Maddon didn't know existed.
The Astros take Apple leaving Bryant on the board.
2015 97 win MAGIC and lots of luck ... Jake is good but NOT Gibson good.

I heard Rizzo dropped 30 pounds. Is he trying to turn himself in to Mark Grace?

Look for more doubles and less HR's in 2016.

If he was trying to turn himself into Grace he would have gotten a couple DUI's in the offseason.

Leash, if you want to laugh at things I say there are hundreds of posts to do this with. The ones in this thread today are not the ones to use

See the bold section? Read it two or three times if you need to, so that it finally sinks it. This means that it wasn't always the case with IMU and the Cubs, but that lately his over the top love of anything Cub has changed.

If you are going to quote me, at least quote the entire statement. Picking and choosing what to quote is the perfect way to take things out of context to fit your asinine narratives.

The entire statement reads;

As I said earlier, two or three times for that bold section.

Therefore, in closing;
