If Butler wants to rub these posts in my face, or FavreFan's face, fine. He worked hard to get good. He did not come into the NBA like this. He earned it...and has proven us and many experts wrong. Good for him.
But... we're guys that recognize this and appreciate how he is a top talent in the NBA. You're the one still trying to deny it, and trying to use posts of ours from before he worked hard and became good as proof he is not good currently?
Like...that's just weird.
You were denying it as late as last season. You're the person that chose to champion the cause of a broken down Luol Deng. You're the guy that chose to not rely on the eye test. If you had, you would have known that Luol Deng was incapable of playing at a high level anymore. Cleveland proved that. You were arguing this even as Butler was having an All Star season.
I didn't know that there was a statute of limitations on this stuff. You are the guy that watches basketball games for the purpose of analyzing spreadsheets. If you'd actually watched the Luol Deng that played in Cleveland you would have known that the Butler of last season was better. Now you are recognizing his talent when the cats already out of the bag. How convenient of you to do so.
I'm not actually arguing against him being an all star. I'm merely suggesting that the best way for the Bulls to have successful season is by having him be the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team. I gave you his isolation stats from last yr. Not good. He is not a dynamic offensive player. That's not a knock. A lot of guys arent. As such the offense shouldn't run through him. That's my argument.
