I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the worlds greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my back's against the ropes
I can feel it mmm
I'm the world's greatest

I think this is similar to the changes at catcher. They went from below average offensively at the position to average without a drop in defense. The only spot I see as below average right now is RF and I am still hopeful for good things from Avi, as unjustified as that may be. I was looking at Saladino being a sub .210 type of hitter at the bottom of the order. I think Rollins could be a nice touch hitting 9th with 20 steal speed.

See leash?

Over the last three seasons, Rollins compiled a .676 OPS.

Cubs fans might want to be reminded that Jimmy Rollins is but one month younger than John Lackey.

I find that judging players by performance and not age works best.

Especially when you are talking about rookies in one half of a season.

I know, right. It is much more fun to talk about how well a player jumped into the league and started performing at such a young age instead of having to focus on his age as a reason why he may take some time to acclimate.

just a tick more and Cubs fans would be proclaiming him a can't miss prospect at SS

I'm sorry, which Sox fan said Rollins was going to be a part of the AL's top offense this year?

I'm sorry you can't be proud of the 2016 White Sox.

I wish you could feel the way about your team that i feel about my team. Being able to expect a fun season for the team you root for is enjoyable to having to scrape through the forums trying to find ways to shit on another team and their fans.

Sad & pathetic. Do you really expect sympathy from anyone because the big mean Sox fans shit all over the wimply, sandals-wearing Cubs fans?

Also the "This is our year!" meme has been stale for decades now. Find a new one before its 109 years and counting.

Denying the Cubs being one of the top teams in MLB just because you're jealous of the positive attention they receive seems more sad and pathetic. Carrying over some high school envy, maybe?

I don't think anyone is denying. We are just saying it doesn't mean shit. They've been "one of the top teams in MLB" several times before, including 2008. How did that work out?

I'm not sure how a team can be a "top team in MLB" before anyone has played a game. I don't believe anyone is denying that many people believe they will be a top team in MLB. But right now they are 0-0 like everyone else.

We both know you're comparing a 'one-off' veteran team to a team set up to be a model franchise for the next 5+ years. 2008 didn't work out...but it was that. 2008.

I'm excited for 2015-2020. Lots of bites at the apple.

I'm not sure a 3rd place team really had a big bite at the apple. A few nibbles maybe.

Model franchise? Yeah...if only more teams lost 90+ games for 4 years in a row to get high draft picks, use one of those picks on a DH, then spend $200 million on 30 year old pitchers.

The 2016, 17, 18 postseason is promised to nobody. Not even the lovable losers, despite what you might say or think IMU.

I'm a big fan of Rollins. Hope he makes the team. I'd like to shake the man's hand at a Sox game this year

Based on how badly you think the Cubs are doing, you must REALLY be down on the other teams in the league.

Promised? The Cubs are taking.

I never said the Cubs were doing poorly. I just refuse to assume that they are going to win 95 games and walk into the World Series this year like you do.

Us Sox fans saw our team win a World Series in 2005. Afterwards, Kenny went out and made some really nice moves that seemingly improved the club. We thought we would be in the playoffs for sure and possibly looking to repeat at World Champs. As it turns out, the Sox only had one bite at the apple. And you saw what happened to the 2004 Cubs, a team that supposedly had no weakness, and the 2008 Cubs who were coming off a division title. For you to casually dismiss even the possibility that the Cubs only chance *might* have been 2015 is flat out moronic.

Not really.

I've already heard the always hilarious and never gets old joke "It's an even year, so the Giants will win"

But aside from that you add Johnny Cueto and a healthy Matt Cain to an already good team.

What is so great about the Giants?

They have one of the true Aces of baseball and a second guy who has been dominant at times (Cueto), they have a good bullpen, play good defense and they're lineup is very solid 1-8.

Whats not to like?
