But out of a brief period of boredom I saw this list from Dan Rafael where it had 'unification' fights he wanted to see and some bits on the likelihood. http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/12 ... pions-list

So listing those and more, here's hoping for 2016 some matchups. There are other good fights to be made but these would be a bigger deal. And the good news is that these are somewhat plausible too.

- Welterweight -
Keith Thurman vs. Shaun Porter (March) winner facing Danny Garcia. They're all PBC dudes so this can happen and it looks like they're angling this way.

- Light Heavyweight -
Sergey Kovalev facing both Adonis Stevenson and Andre Ward. The Ward deal is supposedly done for the fall. But Stevenson and his team need to sack up and take a Kovalev fight this summer. Stevenson is already old, has already been diminished in standing because he doesn't face anybody, and obviously the impending Ward fight is a bigger deal for Kovalev anyway. There's no good fight Stevenson can get in the meantime outside of Kovalev. It's ridiculous if Stevenson and uncle Al Haymon think he can just womp turds on Spike and that's a better career path. He'll probably lose to Kovalev but a good showing validates him a bit.

- Heavyweight -
Fury/Klitchsko winner facing Wilder/Povetkin winner. Both of these semifinals are 'mandatory', though neither official yet. But there's a good chance it happens this year!

- Middleweight -
Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin. I fear this Canelo vs. Amir Kahn PPV fiasco is just more reason for Canelo to avoid moving up to Middleweight.

- Jr. Welterweight -
Terrence Crawford vs. Viktor Postol. As Rafael points out, both these dudes are with Top Rank, and most of this division's guys are either beaten or moved up to Welterweight (or both). Crawford has a pretty lame title defense in 2 weeks, nothing in the works for Postol yet (great promotion after his breakout destruction of Matthyse, ugh), there's no reason this shouldn't happen later this year. Unless either guy moves up themselves to face Tim Bradley or some shit.

Triple G is the only guy I watch.

April 23rd on HBO vs. Dominic Wade.

Wade isn't bum, he's just unproven, the kind of stalled prospect (18-0, but not looking too sharp when stepping up) that they probably don't mind throwing to the wolves. So GGG will indeed likely crush him.

Kovalev's promoter is as much at fault for the Stevenson fight not occurring as the other way around, regardless of how likely I think it is that Kovalev stomps him.

Stevenson opting with a rematch with (Chicago-based!) Andresz Fonfara. Which is fine. Hope Stevenson loses but I suppose he's irrelevant either way now with Kovalev-Ward signed.

Also, Thurman-Porter was just postponed due to injury :(

Good fight coming up next week, McGregor vs Diaz . Should be a straight up stand up slug fest til Conor catches him with a left n knocks him out.. The shit talking should reach all time highs.

Golovkin-Brook is a sham fight. Most of Golovkin's mismatches have been purely circumstantial due to other guys not wanting to fight him but he and his team deserve plenty of heat for this one. It's as bad a fight on paper as Canelo-Khan, if not worse. And no, that doesn't mean Golovkin himself deserves to be ripped as much as Canelo but the fight itself still sucks.

Crawford-Postol feels like the first decent match in ages and of course it's stuck on a needless PPV.
