 I'm not miserable. I laugh at your blind optimism with the Cubbies while the more sensible posters like RPB and Peroia Matt know that nothing is promised to this years team. I expect it is you who will be miserable come October...maybe even September.

Also, I'm just wondering how many future HOF's the CUBS can get onto this roster. There are about 6 already...7 if you count Maddon, right?

Its like no one has ever heard of a veteran being invited to camp with a minor league deal. This happens across baseball every year.

It's not baffling or unprecedented and they arent expecting anything out of Victorino. Anything they get is a plus.

Forget Victorino, he's a cheap insurance policy in the event of a Soler trade or an injury. With the Fowler signing, the Cubs have basically replaced Soler with Heyward, only they get to keep Soler as a 4th outfielder. They replaced Castro with Zobrist and got Lackey for Dan Haren. Plus they added Adam Warren as a guy who can step into the rotation if needed. If having a team that is too deep and talented is a problem, I guess the Cubs have a real problem.

Who is optimistic about Shane Victorino? Better to be miserable just in October than all year long.

Going to be a long and difficult season for Frank to endure.

See? Sensible.

This is not the tune some Cubs fans were singing earlier this week when the Sox signed Jimmy Rollins.

Blind optimism? Blind?

What portion of this Cubs team am I positive about that you feel I should be negative about? Your attempts to pit Cubs fans against each other is tired. They may have more guarded optimism than I do? So fucking what! Is there a right amount of optimism and anything above or below that is wrong?

You're straight up miserable. I can't even begin to fathom how you could care about my optimism this much. Who has that much energy to care about things like how hopeful certain posters are about teams they are a fan of, and then rate that level of 'hope' versus other posters. Are you serious? Forget miserable....it is pathetic.

Take half of the attention you give to me or bigfan, and focus that time on planning new romantic dining experiences for you and your wife. Make a fucking baby. Do something else.

I think Rollins is expected to start or at least get significant time though.

Yes, being optimistic about a team that's a favorite to win the WS sure is blind optimism.

Sux have done that repeatedly since around 1970 or so. So you have that going for you. Good luck with Rollins however that turns out for ya.

Even our Spring Training Game 1 lineup would win 90 games.
