Sox fan here, or actually ex sox fan. When Theo Epstein was available, Ricketts went out and got him. When Joe Maddon became available, Epstein fired Renteria and got Maddon.
Meanwhile Reinsdorf utilizes cronyism as his chief method of operating sports franchises, and in doing so shits on the fans of the franchises he owns. I'm sick of him and his mo. Loyalty to your country, your family, and friends. But I watch sports for entertainment, and that means winning, and that is not going to happen so long as Reinsdorf uses the Sox to surround himself with ass kissers, and that will never change. Go Cubs, goodbye Sox.

Everything falling right for the Cubs right now. The only thing stopping this train is injury.

They count in the 162 game season, too.
I have no explanation for the playoff disgrace. Good thing Santo wasn't around to watch another shameful display against the Mets!

I am all about the playoffs, its why this year, at the break, I expect to see a major deal from the Cubs. Hottest pitcher out of contract, etc. Maybe another closer.

Valid points on the Sox for sure.

Real courageous to all of a sudden start rooting for the Cubs though. You're probably one of those "diehard" Blackhawks fans from way back in 2009-2010.

You could easily do this , and you start dozens of threads in the Sox section every season.

You? Obsessed?

Ha ha ha. Yes.

I mean I hate to ask you to count that out, as I know how difficult that task could be for you.

But, I can get you some help if you need it.

Would not stun me if starting pitcher failed them this year and they did not make the playoffs.

Frank posts 3-1 in Cubs-Sox threads. Its going to be a long year for Frank, last year was just getting warmed up.. This team willake the playoffs yearly for the next 5-6 years.

I have always liked both the Cubs and White Sox. Mom was a Cubs fan and pops was Sox all the way. Always wanted that great 2 sided hat Ray Rayner had back in the day.

However, I do favor the White Sox as my favorite team - hands down. I know I'm in the minority but I really don't see why you can't enjoy both teams. Just my opinion.

Thanks, I'll hang up now and take my beating off the air...

Can already see the unraveling. Expect either a full out postathon if the Cubs do bad, or they go into hiding.

As the exuberance of an outstanding Cubs season is underway, they will initially remind everyone that World Series trophies are not handed out in June, July, etc.... then it will get quiet. But just in time for the playoffs, they will return to try to act as wet blankets, predicting Cubs failures in the postseason. Then, it will get really interesting.

When they are around .500 in July Cub fans will get very quiet. All the braggadocio and swagger will give way to that familiar refrain: Wait 'til next year!

Not a chance. Unless there are significant injuries, they will be well above .500 . But for the sake of argument, lets say they are hovering just 5 games over .500 at that point....well, that is what happened last season and they wound up winning 97 games, so I would point back to 2015 and let the remainder of the season play out.

They're not going to win 97 games again. That is a certainty.

July 26, 2015 Cubs were five games over .500. Right around .500.

Worked out ok last year.

Just like there was zero (0) percent chance they were making the playoffs last year.

my favorite thing about blackhawk fans. they're all "the biggest blackhawk fans" that you know, have been around for 6 years. that's quite a legacy.
