The Cubs in 2015 won 25 more games than the White Sox. (101 Total to 76 Sox wins)

Instead of telling Cub fans about matching the 97 W total, maybe you should start hoping the Sox could win at least half that disparity for 2016.

The only number that matters to Sox fans is 2005.

Sox will be better than last year.

Probably still not a playoff team.

It was pretty great.

We could also use 11-1.

Ah good times...

The Sox will easily win 13 games this year.

By your own words, you don't care how many games they win, right?

Yes.

I just think they'll get at least 13 of them this year.

13 games ahead of whom? Why are you wasting your precious time in this meaningless baseball endevour when you could be arguing on some other useless topic?

Reason, look at jimmy's original post in that quote chain. That should explain the smartass 13 game comment from Rick.

Why do you care about the Cub?

I only care about bridging communication gaps, and there clearly was one here.

Communication gaps? That's rich.

Is that what you youngsters now call obsession?

Cubs won way more games so therefore were better than the Sox. Or do we need new math for this?

Too early to know, but had they signed Ian Desmond rather than Jimmy Rollins, I would like their chances better. But they have improved and if they get some better performances from players that under-performed in 2015, they should be .500 or better.

They were 3-3 in games that count, which was not good enough to take The Cup from The Cell.

OMG.....you are not serious are you? Do you really care about that cup? A playoff bid that gives the team a chance in the postseason is what matters. If the Cubs win that hunk of junk, I hope they fling it into the Chicago River. It means nothing and should be treated as such. That used to matter a bit, when the Cubs had nothing else to reasonably look forward to, while tanking during the regular season. Those days are thankfully over.

Well they dont give trophies for being 3rd in your division nor getting annihilated in the NLCS, so be careful what you throw in the river. Not like the Cubs trophy case is too cluttered for the BP Cup, right?

it's not to cluttered for a bag of dog crap, but I wouldn't suggest they collect that either.

Try to think clearly.....The World Series trophy is obviously the goal. The pennant is crucial, as without it, a World Series title is not possible. A divisional championship is important so that a team can avoid the Wild Card. A spot in the playoffs even if it is through the Wild Card is great, as it still makes a Championship possible. The crosstown cup has no bearing on any of this, except for the fact that any wins in the crosstown games matter for the team's overall record. The games matter no more than any other and that cup means nothing.

Only in response to your posts to me. The Cubs have a team built to truly contend and placing any importance on some crosstown series is really silly. I really hope Maddon doesn't get goofy and try to manipulate the rotation in any way in an attempt to have Arrieta and Lester pitch in those games. I remember in past seasons, where managers had guys take an extras rest, so they could be held back to pitch in the crosstown. I get in a season where nothing much is expected and the team is tanking, that might make sense to try to give some fans a measure of joy that they at least beat the crosstown rival. But those days are over.
