Could be any player in any sport....or this one.

Establishment owner of ABC Dining talks to team rep.
Would Player B like to come to dinner tonight?
rep, "let me see who would like to go."
Players talk to rep. Who is offering what?
Rep makes dinner reservations for various players.
Player goes to dinner for free at ABC establishment.
Next day, team rep has envelopes to give to said players who attended ABC.
Player open envelope and gives rep 2 bills or so.

Its a good life

Almost sounds like some of the McMahon stories I've heard. (Especially one where a 13 yr. old N. Shore kid(or his connected dad) got the Fridge to come to his party as a consolation)

Amazing how $5K can turn into $20K in a half an hour. For any then headliner Bear.

Pro athletes make a ton of money and never have to spend any of it.

One of my friends is a big memorabilia/autograph collector and he was at a show some years back. This guy is also an SIU grad so he's always interested in Salukis. Clyde Frazier was at the show and my friend talked to him for awhile. On the other side of the hall Jim Hart was signing. My friend went over than and bullshitted with Hart for a little bit and mentioned that Clyde was signing across the room. Hart asked my buddy to give Clyde a message. I guess those guys know each other from SIU. My friend then mentioned that it was SIU night at the Sox game. Hart said, "Aw man, I'd love to go to that, but I'm on my own dime." My friend said he was sitting there thinking, "Yeah? I'm on my own fucking dime too."

Why dont you ask the others who seems to fully understand what happened....and I didnt feel the need to use exact players names or exact peoples names.

ABC Dining has terrible reviews on Yelp.

Movie stars, Rock stars, Athletes.....of course there are perks regularly. If you entertain people, the world is yours. That is why teachers, Cops, Firemen and soldiers, who all do more important things, make a tiny percentage of what those people make. Being on a really good team, makes life much better for the less than high profile guys. Hell, the Bulls during their championship years got nice appearance money for guys who hardly played.
