That is a good post by you. Nice Job.

Was getting all ready for you to just call JORR a dumb fuck or something. Well done.

Thanks, man

Not really. And entire league of shit 34 games under vs. the AL.

Lose in the NLCS. About 90 wins.

Solid ... I think 88-90 advance to WS and lose

Thanks

How about the Sox... they are a little harder for me... I can see 86 wins as easily as 76 ... I think they miss the playoffs regardless
They won't be good. Either lucky to win in the 80s or bad and in the low 70s.

It's good, but I think you have to consider that they beat up on a lot of bad teams. They were .500 vs. the AL and finished behind two teams in their own division. The 97 wins may not be as great as it seems.

The Cubs went 38-27 vs other teams with winning records in the NL.

Glad you researched that to make JORR look as stupid as that post deserved. In addition, they had an outstanding road record as well as home record, so it wasn't a team that just cleaned up at home.

Yes, in addition to doing very well against winning teams, they beat up on teams they were supposed to beat. That is what 97 win, contending teams do.

Perhaps it could all be taken care of like when Heyward got his #22 from Addison Russell, a small measure of compensation could be offered?

Sadly, I stumbled across this 'gem' ... now you too can read it and then wonder why the hell you did so.

In the service of no discernible purpose save for pacifying his most lamentable instincts, this scribe is going to make anagrams out of the Cubs' projected lineup for 2016.

... So we're taking the names of the players in Chicago's likely 2016 lineup and rearranging the letters of those names to make different words. That's what we're doing. The motivation for this is the absence of motivation itself. Here goes almost literally nothing ...

1. Lewd Ox-Ferret; CF
2. Bronze Bits; 2B
3. Onion Thyrazz; 1B
4. Rinks Ratby; 3B
5. Joey WAR Hands; RF
6. Beryl Whackers ; LF
7. U.M. Groin-Omelet; C
8. L' Dinosaur Sleds; SS
9. E. IKEA Rat Jar; SP

And so it is done. The names in the Cubs' likely 2016 lineup have been manipulated to yield other, different words.

How is this news? How indeed. People, there is no baseball today.

Did you always play or love it and pass that on? Or is it something that you paid more attention to because your kids like it?

My granddad loved it. Anything he loved (all sports) I loved, because he got us in the middle of it. From drag racing to football to baseball in the right field lower grandstand at Comiskey. I passed some of it on to my kids, but I didn't expect them to be nearly as talented as they occasionally are. (or as big)

And my granddad nurtured my Cubbie hatred.

But me, I just played like any city kid. And that was back in the day where pro players were always around (park/parking lot/field/alley/gym) to get you charged. I remember Lyman Bostock (rip) or Reggie Theus or Revie Sorey or Aguirre being around the way.

But I can see myself being a debate/stage/science club Dad as well. Maybe even would prefer to be...

It's funny how it's the grandparents. I'm seeing it with my kids and their grandparents and looking back it is how I related to my grandfathers.

I don't think you'd thrive as a dance dad. its the worst. If I had one wish it would be for both my kids to be completely average at mainstream sports.

I don't think I'd thrive as a dance dad or with a daughter. She'd probably kill me. For good reason.

I really couldn't imagine having a daughter.   :alien:

The Score reported this morning that Jake Arrietta confirmed he was in talks with the Cubs on a multi year contract. Every other outlet reports it that what Arietta was actually saying is that they couldn't come to an agreement, they are not in talks and have agreed not to be during the season.

This is the honest coverage I expect to see from the Score while the Cubs are on the station.

Practice is done around 10 AM for the most part. Guys go to the other fields and take BP or work on fielding and do extra work, but they go from 6 AM to 10 AM...the games at 1 PM are extended practice. They dont take BP for the games, so between 10 AM and 1 PM, if Maddon wants to have puppets and strippers in the OF, go for it.

The only reason they dont start the games earlier is that they need to give the other team time to drive to the game after they finish their practices.

I'll be going to the game with the family on Friday, 3/25...never been to the new park -- any things I should try to see outside of the actual game?
