I know it is Spring, but should I be concerned about this awful record?

The Cubs are hitting .180 and getting on base at around a .200 clip. Spring, Arizona. This I know. but is this a cause for worry?

You have to look deeper into why their record stands where it does. The starting pitching has been mostly good and a lot of the problems are with guys like Rex Brothers (who was already released) who may very well not be a part of the team going North. It's a very good team, relax.

Safe rule to live by... invert the Spring Training records and you'll find Regular Season records. The Cubs have had too many Cactus League crowns in the last decade.

Also, invert the players' individual statistics because right now Davis Ross is by far the hottest hitter.

I said no such thing. Much of his value comes from his power. I think he will adapt to pitcher's over the next few seasons...maybe relax on an 0-2 count or recognize a fastball count versus a breaking ball count.

But I don't want him to change his game. I want him to improve his game. And I'll trust the front office and Maddon's evaluation of Baez.

Needs the hit down on the ball not under it adjustment. It will happen.

0-30 is good with me. Opening day is April then they count.

Their evaluation seems to be that he is a backup player at the MLB level who will have to play every position to stick.

WRONG! Their evaluation of Baez, is that he is a very good player that they currently have no position to offer him. So they will take advantage of his versatility and use him much as Joe used Zobrist for years.....playing all over the infield and outfield to give others a rest and himself regular playing time.
