Did you go out, Leash?
Good week for pike on the Fox River backwaters and also on the DuPage.

I didn't Sarley. It took me all day to unpack all my crap. But next weekend, I am.

Did you go out there this weekend?

The same can be said for Lou Malnati's.

Northern Pike on the DuPage river--had no idea. Where are the hot spots?

Oops! I meant the DesPlaines.
Fish north of Dundee Road and look for downed timber.
Actually, the DuPage has pike but I've never fished for them there.
I'd try the same areas right now - downed trees.

Don't you love pictures where the fish is better looking than the fisherman?

Got any good info down in the Naperville area? This is my first full year in this area. PM me if you don't want jerks like DannyB stealing your tips.

I'd like to find out where the Naperville pond is in this video -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqGACknrRUY
I'm really not familiar with Naperville fishing but I always wanted to try the pond next to the fire station on Chicago Avenue.
I always heard it was good.

My buddy fishes the Dupage River in the Bolingbrook/Plainfield area.

I'll keep walleyes from Lake Erie, perch and salmon from Lake Michigan and bluegills when ice fishing.
Everything else goes back.

I bet I can find this. You can see the train in the background, and it's not heavily populated.

I only keep them if I'm out all day for a specific type of fish that's good. I'm not as hardcore as Sarley, so I typically go around Illinois or Southern Wisconsin and do crappie if we are looking for some filets. Occadionally catfish also.

heard that Walleye is good eating. Had it once, wasnt so impressed, but then again wasnt fresh.

As a yute, lotsa perch up in Wisc, enjoyed that....and I like Salmon, but heard they are very scarce these days? Maybe FAR up North or in Deep Lake Michigan only?

If you like perch, you'd definitely like walleye. Very similar in taste.
Try this recipe. http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/gri ... 788e561886
Salmon populations are down in Lake Michigan. They don't reproduce in Illinois and they aren't stocking as many as they used to.
The king salmon are the kind you'd buy at the fish store and there are fewer of them.
There are plenty of Cohoes and are very catchable in the spring.

I wish I could fish. I don't have the patience for it. Also, when my grandpa tried to teach me, I got the hook caught in my finger, so I never even tried to learn after that.

I love to fish, but I am the worst fisherman of all time. Still nothing better than sitting on a lake in the upper Wisconsin / UP area.

Yeah don't worry, I won't actually go there. My agent recommended that I cultivate the appearance of a lower middle-class hobby to relate to my plebian listeners. Secondly, I have never even heard of this Naperville place. I assume it's near Niles or something like that.

It's reasoning like that that got you Tim Baffoe. You should just keep it real.

Few years ago...went down to the DesPlaines river in Libertyville...first cast from shore with a Little Cleo...4 pound northern pike. Haven't tried much since, caught nothing else.

Maybe try some lake or pond fishing this summer...

I'm much more attracted to fishing in the Middle Keys...always action and it could be anything...love those toothy saltwater critters.

Fresh walleye from Lake Erie is some serious good eating.

Also, you pay for my fishing license (Do people actually still do this?)
