The only issue here is that he should have told him not to bring the kid in the first place. But you know what? Hit .250 with 35 homers and nobody cares about your fuckin' kid. That's life. Do you think anyone is sad about losing LaRoche? It's a non-issue baseball wise.

First post in Sox forum, hopefully last.

Figured Cubs fans would be piling on but I see no problem with what the Sox did. Kenny had a well reasoned, and polite statement. I could only assume he handled it the same way when they approached LaRoche. Kenny/Rick/Robin are LaRoche's bosses, if they are unhappy with a situation they address it with an employee. If the employee doesn't like the change, or won't comply, then what LaRoche did is the result.

As for they let him do it last year, or if he was producing they wouldn't do this, blah, blah, blah.

If my boss comes in today and says, "Hey Mr. Post, we are moving you from an office to a cubicle.", I can't say, "ButI sat in this office last year."

By the same token, if I complain that Mr. Winner always leaves at 2:30 on a Friday but I have to be here till five, the boss will say "Mr. Post, that guy generated 4 mm in revenue last year and you generated nothing, turn the lights out at 5."

This isn't Kenny being a dick, this is the Sox addressing a situation with an employee that they viewed as a problem. LaRoche is the dick on this one.

There was no better outcome than this.
They all know how it went down and I doubt many will care unless they are his friends. A player making huge money who sucks and spends the whole season hanging out with his kid has things happen like this.

How about if David Haugh writes a story about how the Sox have a 13 year old kid hanging around the team when he ought to be in school? You think that might be a problem? Because I guarantee if that happened you'd be linking the article and firing on the White Sox.

Why couldn't you? My wife recently managed a reorganization of offices and cubicles for a 500 person company and believe me, many of them said exactly that.

And where was the GM and Manager?

for once kenny williams meddling has paid off! If he wants to un-retire do the sox have to accept him back at his contract salary or can they say not interested not paying you?

This is arguably the most ridiculous baseball related item I've heard in years. Of course a home schooling nut is involved.

Of course if the players who are hurt because the guy they respect and look up to has thankfully left the premises, they can take their asses somewhere else too. And take Robin...who clearly is the real clubhouse problem.
