Winning a title is impressive anywhere.

I dont think doing it in a place with a long title drought really changes the accomplishment (although people's perception will be different)

The White Sox from 11 years ago are not necessarily better than the ones from 99 years ago just because they ended a drought.
Exactly.

Others disagree though.

Frank was always big and has stayed big and never got huge either.

So Maddux didn't use because he started off small and stayed small?

I don't know if Maddux ever used. I will not say that I am sure he did not. Most Sox fans swear that Frank didn't.
Please stop arguing with yourself.

There is no reason to believe Frank did.

I mean, he could be a member of ISIS too, but I doubt he is.

Can't think of a worse ped poster boy than Greg Maddux.

Last half of his career, most stuff was under 90 mph, so, I am missing what the roids did for him?

94 was probably his career top.

So the roids made the ball move?

Gotta hand it to Theo for winning more potential championships than the Sox have actually done.

I never gave a rat's ass about PEDs. In fact I found baseball highly entertaining during the steroids era and I wish nothing had been done about it. As for setting a bad example.for kids, that's what parents in this country deserve for letting strangers who play sports on tv raise their kids for them.

I, for one, enjoy going to the Cell to watch a baseball game. Doesn't hurt that tickets cost next-to-nothing these days.

If you want a bad ballpark experience, try the Juice Box in Houston (especially with the roof closed) or the Vomit Dome in TB.

BTW, the rest are either strawman opinions, or not myths at all (does anyone actually NOT think Big Jim screwed the taxpayers? )

FAIL.

It is a much more comfortable baseball experience to watch a game on the lower level of the cell.

I have trouble believing Comiskey ranks either above or below 15th-16th out of 30. It just is. Busch Stadium and Angel Stadium seem the same way, though at least it's really nice outside at the latter.

Because Frank tried to force the MLB into mandatory testing for steroids.

Thomas was one of the major stars who never fell under suspicion during the controversies over performance-enhancing drugs in the late 1990s, and was an advocate for drug testing as early as 1995;

We know pitchers were using it just as much, and we know that size is not the only factor given the people who got caught and how they looked.

That is why Maddux is the perfect counter. They both deserve the exact same level of suspicion. So, if you think Maddux didn't use then you shouldn't think Frank did. If you think Maddux probably did then go ahead and think Frank did.

In fact, in terms of career longevity and staying elite into old age there may be more reason to suspect Maddux did.

PED use doesn't add mph to a pitcher's fastball, it keeps them pitching more innings every season. And Greg Maddux led the NL in IP 5 straight seasons over many pitchers who were using steroids rampantly. Except for his age 36 season (199 1/3) he threw for 200 IP+ every year of his career between age 22 and age 40. That includes the strike shortened 94 season.

Maddux did steroids. There's absolutely no doubt about it.

For the same reason that Cubs fans think Greg Maddux never did.

You need someone better than Maddux for that comparison.
