Your guy Favre seemed to draw tons of attention back when he was in NY sexting whoever he ran into.

Sexting scandals are dumb but they are also pretty run on of the mill and common now. This story is bizarre and much stupider than that story was.

The chairman speaks:

“I continue to have complete faith in the skills and abilities of the leadership group of our baseball operations department in Ken Williams, Rick Hahn and Robin Ventura. I also appreciate the passion and commitment to one another shown by our players, Robin, our coaching staff and our front office,” said Reinsdorf. “As with many things in life, much of this was a result of miscommunication and misunderstanding rather than this being a case of anyone not telling the truth. I do not believe there is anyone to directly blame in this situation. While there is no doubt this might have been handled differently, the fact remains that this is an internal matter that we have discussed and now resolved.

“Per my request, White Sox employees will no longer discuss this matter publicly. I felt it was appropriate to release this statement to close the issue for everyone in the organization – from the front office to the players in the clubhouse – so we can focus on Opening Day and winning baseball games for our fans. I am fully confident this matter will soon be behind us and that we will grow even stronger and more united as a team and as an organization.”

I haven't heard that part of the interview. Are we sure he didn't say, "We lost a leader AND Drake."?

Jerry has released his all-important statement:

“I continue to have complete faith in the skills and abilities of the leadership group of our baseball operations department in Ken Williams, Rick Hahn and Robin Ventura. Its resolved, Jerry said so.

Just ask Eaton, Sale or Frazier.

Looks like the Chariman got his way....I haven't turned on 670 in over a week but not seeing a whole lot in the news anymore on this.
Squashed succesfully.

Back to the original point before this blew up. This is easily one of the best examples of addition by subtraction. That lineup looks WAY better with the simple removal of LaRoche.

I thought about this yesterday and I agree. Whole lot of nothing in the end. Just radio guys hoping a season got ruined so they had a narrative.

Way bigger than that.

This was a national story. It was good timing because nothing else is really going on during spring training.

It's a fleeting story but its not the work of two radio guys

I wouldn't give the radio guys that much credit. As stupid as this was, it was national news worthy, given the idiocy that the White Sox allowed it to happen, followed by the idiocy of the players voicing their support.

All look stupid when in the end the team improved.

Very clear, though, Jerry still has some weight....he clearly was the one who squashed it in the end.

Matt Harvey not peeing enough is a national story today so maybe being a national story really isn't a big deal at all.

The La Roche thing dominated MLB news for about a week and it had nothing to do with local radio guys.

You had players from other teams commenting, new twists every day (The Ace of the staff calling the GM a liar) and there will probably be rule changes based on this.

Nothing like Harvey's story

It is a whole lot of nothing.

The only real takeaway is that Sale hates Kenny, which isn't a shock.

There are more takeaways than that but either way, this wasnt some small story that Boers and Bernstein were pushing.

Every National Baseball writer wrote about this and most of them had a few articles.

I guess it really isn't a shock to get clear and convincing evidence that Eaton & Sale are both idiots either.

If it was a lesser franchise like the Cubs it would've been a non story, but to see it envelop huge names like Kenny Williams and Chris Sale and also dominate the discussion around the most popular team in America's 3rd largest city amplified the attention it got. I'm not saying the Sox are on the level of the Yankees or anything, but sometimes the relevance that comes with being Chicago's Team bites you in the ass.

Lots of writers are probably jealous of 2005 too...

Yeah I don't mean "bad" odd.

Just different. Especially for a baseball player.

Illinois needs a law to prevent baseball players from discriminating against the white sox.

I'm sure he is good person, but he doesn't get it. This is not a choice of your son over your team. This is a choice of reality over some really weird alternate world you've been allowed to work in. The problem is, you're bad at baseball now. The team is better off without you. Goodbye.

and yes....Robin, Kenny, Rick are all morons for it even having to come to this.

Now let's get back to playing the games.
