I'm at home and can't watch because of fucking WGN. That's two days in a row.

For me is no problem.

If you're downstate and get WGN America instead of channel 9, you don't get Hawks games, but you don't get them anywhere else, either. It's a donut hole that the Hawks really need to fix with a syndication package.

What in the hell is 19's deal this year? Stupid ass penalties and no scoring other than in overtime.

Tons of injuries and concussions. The game chewed him up and spit him out. He's a third-line center from here on out.

Got into my Detroit-area hotel room, and on the way the only way I could bring in the game was the CSN1040 radio feed on Sirius. Besides the horrible PBP, be thankful for what we have had, and what we have right now, as their broadcast team was basically all giddy over their current and upcoming rebuild

Dunno if they're TV, radio, or both, but Garrett and Shorthouse are like having RFDC call a game.

He is clearly a zombie out there this year. IDK if I would drop him all the way to the 3rd line though. I would probably swap the 1st and 2nd lines and thus he would be the 2nd line center. Ladd is the only thing holding that line together. Hoss has been great up until this year but he is a shell....a VERY VERY costly shell for many years to come.

Well, when people talk about Toews, they always say "well, he may not get the points, but hockey isn't about scoring (PRO TIP: it is), it's about doing all the little things out there, and he does all the little things." Okay. You know what you just did? You described John Madden, arguably the best third-line center of the 2000s. Hell, you described Andrew Shaw. All the small things are great (though "What's My Age Again?" was the better blink-182 single), but it's not something done in this league with the scarcity that justifies an eight-figure salary.

The same thing happened with Bryan Trottier (one of many great Leading 19s) after years of hard miles with the Islanders. He carried on with the Penguins and some other teams for a few years, doing The Little Things and providing supplemental leadership, but he fell apart and was never the same player he was for Long Island. Hell, the grind of the dynasty ended Mike Bossy's career altogether. The only real difference is I think Trottier went off the cliff around age 32 while Toews went off the cliff at just 27. Also, Trottier won four in four to Toews's three in six, but there are huge differences in competition level that need to be taken into account. Point is, Toews is finished as a scoring-line center.

I like that one too. I'd rank them

I Miss You (you're already the voice inside my Ed)
What's My Age Again?
Adam's Song
Dammit
All the Small Things

and that's all I can think of offhand, but hearing "What's My Age Again?" is like mainlining 8th grade memories.
