Kozelek is so damn prolific, some of his stuff can be swing and a miss, but Universal Themes, while nowhere close to being as good as Benji, is still a pretty solid record. the title is too long, but I like the one about the Indian's first day working in a gas station the best off of UT.

tried out the new weezer. white album. it reminded me of the green album. definitely more listenable than "everything will be all right..." but doesn't have as strong good songs as red album. then again, doesn't devolve into pure shite like the red album did either.

Underwhelming.

Bun E. is sorely missed.

If the cover is any indication, I bet it's shite.
Look at the Heaven Tonight or Dream Police sleeves.......
This is embarrassing.

This record is growing on me. Some good new pop songs plus a couple covers of songs that Westerberg put out solo that are better than the originals.

Kick ass Westerberg guitar solo on this track:

I really like how they made sure to get all of those pesky lyrics out of the way in the first 15 seconds.

First line.
Second line.
Repeat second line.
Eh...who needs lyrics...this song is about Fisher Price toddler toys.

That entire spring '77 run was awesome.

I listened to 5.10.78 today in the car.
