Monday: 9:05 p.m., WLS-7.

RH Jake Arrieta (22-6, 1.77 ERA in 2015) vs. RH Garrett Richards (15-12, 3.65).

Tuesday: 9:05 p.m., CSN+.

LH John Lester (11-12, 3.34) vs. LH Andrew Heaney (6-4, 3.49).\

I'm guessing a split. Fist time since 2005 opening out West.

Fist should split something and cause the West to bleed profusely.

Beginning of the season, let's just go all-in. Cubs win both big just because.

Excited to to see Zobrist and Russel up the middle for the rest of this year. I think they will play in big for the first month or so.

2 good teams. This should be a fun couple of games. The hype is such that a split against even a good team would disappoint some. But a split is likely and would not be a problem with me.

I wonder how crazy Maddon's lineup will be for the first few weeks. I'll also be interested to see how he deals with either Schwarber or Soler going on a hot streak to start out the year.

Gonna be status quo for first week or so then the tweaking will begin. And continue until November.

Must win game tonight. Cubs have no chance tomorrow because they can't hit lefties and they can't afford to go 0-2. The expectations are so high that at the first sign of trouble the media will turn on this team and then the fans will too. Joe would have to bring in back flipping monkeys to try to save the team. It could get ugly

Entire season on the line tonight

The Cubs hit lefties better than league average, and their vs LHP and vs RHP splits last year were not very significant.

How can Rizzo be the leader of this team? He's not anywhere near an RBI a game. How can you be a leader if you don't score at least once or twice a game... sure... intangibles. Yeah he caught one FOUL ball by leaping off the dugout, risking injury against a team that probably wasn't even going to be going to the playoffs anyway, against a .250 hitter that has a 3 in 4 chance of not getting on base anyway, so why do that? He's easily the most disappointing team captain in baseball history.

Grote and Laurence were going on about how relaxed Lester is this spring vs last.
8)

How great would it be if Lester had one of his real good years? Like 18-5 or something

He's going to need to be because of Arrietas regression. I'd like 15 or 16 wins from him.
