That would work.

I was thinking Smashing Maggies stomach but not sure if she's still pregnant now

I think its Darryl. He's the guest on Talking Dead next week along with Kirkman and Gimple. No mention of any surprise guests. Anyone from the core who gets killed would definitely be a guest on TD after the episode.

Morgan is shown on a horse in the previews. I'm guessing Morgan finds that guys horse and returns it to the Kingdom and that is how we are introduced to those people. No idea what is going to happen with Carol?

The original spoiler I heard was you'd get a POV shot from the person getting the bat and not know who it was.

BREAKING NEWS -

3 minutes has been added to the finale. Speculation is that they cut the last 3 minutes from screeners so the details wouldn't get out.

I think we will find out who gets it and it will be Daryl. My prediction - Daryl is in pretty bad shape from the gunshot wound to his shoulder. He hides it pretty well most of the episode. Toward the end of the episode we see that he's done for but Negan & crew are unaware and Daryl ends up getting the bat with the somewhat minor cop-out that we, as an audience, knew he was about to die anyway.

And perhaps he provokes Negan to metaphorically jump on the grenade

There has to be more than that, though. It's not like this show needs any more hype, so I'm not sure why Andrew Lincoln would make those comments unless there is actually some shit that goes down.

As much as I hated season two, I would say Carol seeing her zombie-daughter shot would be more gut-wrenching than Daryl taking a bat to the dome.

Lincoln and Norman Reedus are BFF's offscreen. Also Reedus is basically the most popular cast member amongst the rest of the cast from all the accounts I've heard. Him leaving the show would be extremely gut wrenching for Lincoln and everyone else who's been on the show a long time.

Fair enough. Guess I could understand that. My gut will remain unwrenched, though.

I could see it playing out like this. One addition, I could even see Negan picking Glenn and then Darryl (knowing that he is in bad shape anyway) provoking Negan and getting him to change his mind and turn Lucielle on him instead of Glenn.

Yes, sir. I've quit shows midway through. Might be hanging it up after this one.

I heard it was coming and know why they did it, but it's definitely cheap and going to rub people the wrong way, including an unabashed apologist like me.

I think they could've ended it with us seeing who got killed and Rick submitting to Negan and it would've had a bigger impact on the audience.

Now, if they can somehow keep it a total secret until the next season premiere then it will prove to be a genius move in terms of raising interest in the show, but the odds of them being able to keep this under wraps in the day and age are less than zero. They said on Talking Dead that even the cast doesn't know, but I bet it will be a pretty big clue when someone doesn't get their option picked up in a couple months or whenever it is they handle the business side of things. Also, there are always photos getting leaked from the set. That's how we knew Glenn didn't die with Nicholas, because there were photos of him on set with Jesus.

SO basically the only way this finale wasn't a total disaster is if they pull the impossible and keep it secret. Good luck with that.

Even if they do keep it a secret, it still sucks.

It sucks from yours and my POV, since we're fans. But, in terms of a marketing move and building up buzz leading all the way into next season it would be a massive win for the show. Countless interviews and debates as to who is dead.

As for Negan, he was good, but I was hoping for a little more over the top like in the comics. Wanted to see more comedy and more bravado. And more swearing if that's possible. can you say fvck on AMC?

On one hand I'd hope the writers learned their lesson from the Glenn cliffhanger and not end the season finale similarly. Except why wouldn't the writers string people along for as long as possible? You give the entire viewing audience blue balls and have them then spend the entire summer speculating on who got brained. Then when you come back in the fall you can spend the entire first episode recapping the season finale and maybe reveal who was killed at the end of that episode.

8) . But seriously fuck this show, or perhaps AMC.

You just can't break that scene apart, it doesn't work.

If they wanted to do a season ending cliffhanger they should have ended it without even showing Negan.

Negan comes in and immediately kills a main character. That's the hook.

End it with the dude knocking on the door saying "Time to meet the man" or something like that

This would be like if in Breaking Bad they broke up the Oxymandia shootout by 8 months

And yet the season premiere of Season 7 will be the highest rated episode yet.

Respectfully, you don't know what you're talking about.

Who cares about the ratings? Do you have a vested interest in AMC? I'm not looking at what's best for the network and the people who run the show.

As a consumer of the product, it sucks.

They ruined a great scene and that's why there is so much backlash.

The show and AMC cares about ratings. Cable stations exist to make money. Crazy! The show does not care about backlash. Publicity is free marketing. I respect AMC and the show for being good at what they are supposed to be good at. Keeping viewers hooked.

Yes, it did.

The People vs. OJ has been dropping a fuck a week. If AMC wouldn't let Rick say "They're Fucking with the wrong people" at Terminus, Negan never had a chance.

I'd take that bet. TWD has been dropping viewers for a couple years.

Every review of this finale I've read so far has been horrible. Sepinwall is dropping the show. This was not a good move creatively or ratings-wise.

I don't know how anyone could say the finale was horrible. It was great episode all thoughout. People can bitch about the last 30 seconds, but the episode as a whole was great.

I enjoyed the episode for the most part leading up to the ending. I think they could have cut it down to an hour.

I still don't really understand the whole Morgan/Carol storyline. I don't think any of that makes much sense.

I also thought the Negan scene was a shade too drawn out but that's admittedly a nitpick.

I'll still keep watching the show but I think they're losing a lot of people on this one.

I'd say "you can't come back" from this one.
