I think it is funny that you think this is an insult to JORR.

The Cubs have combined a bunch of closeted homosexuals with a violent corner OFer, a bunch of hired guns chasing the money (except the best one, who wants maximum payday 3 years from now) and expect a drunk creep to keep from it all from falling apart... cant rule out an utter trainwreck at any point but I dont think we'll see anything quite like 2003 ever again.

I think it is funny that "America" is a great representation of the Cubs obsessed Ligueminati.

Face it, this section is your TV Guide and this Cubs team is your Elaine.

P.S. read his post again and ask yourself how long until he leads the 6pm news.....not kidding.

Joe Orr Road Rod is just jealous of all the power displayed by the Cubs in Arizona. He's bracing himself for his Sox disappointment by taking shots at the Cubs. You would think that after a 10 years of getting KHaned a guy like JORR would handle it better.

 I'm totally relaxed and ready to enjoy Sox baseball. The Cub fan is bracing for a Season of Angst.

Not at all. I actually think Kris Bryant is a good kid who has been forced by Cubs brass to endure a lot of bullshit. First they screw him over on service time, then they make him marry his "best friend" and endure a miserable public persona. They really have it out for him.

It's difficult to disappoint a group whose expectations are a moving target. If they don't win the world series, even after being universally touted to do so, their fans will say they are happy to compete. If they don't make the playoffs, their fans will be happy with progress. If they are bad, their fans are happy just to have witnessed baseball. They will respond to unmet expectations with "it was all a media creation."

Thanks for the well wishes, JORR. I love that compassionate side of you. Shows what a big guy you really can be.

I think 2004 will retain that title, even if the Cubs fall short this year.

Anything is possible but please! I come here everyday and enjoy reading about my Cub powerhouse team. If you guys want to piss on something, keep it inside your own ballpark which looks like it smells like piss 24x7 anyway!

From my point of view it appears many Sox fans are stressed out over the Cubs already. Its day 2 of the season.

Honestly, I just cant have the Cubs winning it this year. I'll be too busy around November to flee the country. Every year after this one I should only need to quit my job before going to France or something for 90 days and waiting it out. Luckily I wont be caught completely off guard again like I was last year almost having to settle on Milwaukee; probably make a contingency plan should the Cubs make any sort of playoff run this season to spend a few weeks in Canada, Louisiana, maybe Cuba if were allowed to go there.

Yup. Literally everyone thought the Cubs were going to the World Series that year. This team is expected to be very good but I don't see alot of media predicting them to go all the way.

take a look at the Sun Times today. Four beat reporter predictions. Four Cub world series predictions. In fairness, only one actually predicted they would win the world series.

True. 2004 was The Team With No Weaknesses. This team has David Ross.

Cubs season will be derailed after the smokeless tobacco ban goes into effect and Cubs lose their license to play at Wrigley Field for 60 days mid-season.

In 2004, it was worse. Maybe going thru that made me more jaded but that year the regular season was seen as a warmup. People were discussing playoff rotations in March and even as the Cards got out to a huge lead people still insisted the Cubs would catch them.

I'd put this years expectations more on the level of 2008. Expected to make post season and should have as good a chance as anybody.

04 was like, "Which AL team will they beat in the Series?"
