Babe Ruth. Yogi Berra. Tino Martinez. Starlin Castro. Maybe there was a time not too long ago when you might think, “One of these things is not like the others …” But after the first two games of 2016, you can truthfully say, “One of these things has surpassed the others …” Castro has driven in seven runs in his first two games as a Yankee. No one, not even Ruth, Berra or Martinez, who each drove in seven in the first two games of a Yankees season, can make that same claim since RBIs became an official stat in 1920. Now Starlin’s seven RBI — including five Wednesday during a four-hit masterpiece in the Yankees’ 16-6 rout of the Astros at the Stadium — equals the number of runs knocked in by Ruth ...

I was wondering when this post would be made. Two games into a season is plenty of time to judge a trade.

I'm kidding of course but if he has a great season over there,I'm sure some in Cub Nation will be sniping about it.

Was a good trade. He's clown shoes out on the field. What he has done in this first series is remarkable though.

Good for him.

I don't really care what he does now. He's not on the Cubs. Sooo.... who cares.

Hope he does well. It'll encourage others to make a trade with TheoJed, who doesn't have a lot of salary to shed for another few years.

That was a trade the Sox should have tried to be a part of

It was an awful trade. I said it at the time. This is about the time the game starts to slow down.

If Adam Warren is a good starting pitcher, it was not a bad trade. Same if he is an excellent reliever

Nas and I were behind Starlin from the beginning when all you motherfuckers were throwing him to the wolves. Or the Yankees.

Theo and Jed are to be appreciated, but they got ripped off on this trade.

Starlin is a goddamn professional hitter.

I'm very happy for Castro. I have noticed his start and am glad he's doing well. The Cubs have a glut of talented middle infielders, with more on the way. They needed pitching depth and got it in the trade. While Warren is not in the starting rotation, he may well wind up in it at some point and can be valuable out of the bullpen now. No need to WIN every trade like the Arrieta deal, or Russell deal. As long as Warren does a good job, the trade makes sense. When Castro had his first game as a Cub, I believe he had 6 RBI.

No need to dump a mid 20's all star short stop (with a team friendly contract) for a borderline starting pitcher so you can replace him with a 40 years old utility player that you've given a HUUUGE contract to.

He strikes out too much in situations where putting the ball in play and moving a runner is needed, makes errors in key situations and lacks focus at times. Yes, he has been an All Star a few times and one year it was probably more due to the fact that each team has to have one, than the fact he was killing it that year. but he is a talented hitter. But Zobrist has a higher OBP and puts the ball in play more. Was it a move I would have made...no. But I understand the thinking behind the decision.

Castro isn't a winner. He will have a nice career but won't ever win anything.

Yea I'm not a big Zobrist fan. 3 years ago....hell yea. This was a move to pacify Joe and maybe get some veteran leadership.

Yea, you guys were about the only two on the Castro bandwagon. But then again, Nas was trolling "Cutler MVP" so it kind of balances out.

Always will root for him after how he handled last years demotion with total class. But Yankees will see soon that he is not a winning player. Bright lights will distract the weak minded eventually.
