Pittsburgh game. 10/7/15
I know you're being a dick and all but that was my favorite game.

You're grasping now America. I know it's painful to see the Cubs on field play match the hype. You could just enjoy a nice start to the Sox season...but no!!!

I believe America was/is Ray Rice in Clash. I rather enjoyed his thoughts in the Clan. I guess I'll never get the trolling around here, but both sides are guilty of it. We'd lose something if members starting hanging themselves. Variety is the spice.....

Oh, I like America too and wouldn't want him to take himself out. However, the Cubs are winning it all this year and that is his worst nightmare. I don't want him to suffer. There might be no other option for him at this point.

Nah. He should just demand a trade to the AL.

So what if it is the knee? Next man up. My God, you would think Bryce Harper got injured.

Yea, people love Schwarber and overrate him a bit.

Cubs are tied in the NL Central with a team that is tanking harder than anyone other than the Padres, if that's your idea of "matching the hype" well...

They should have won 4 out of 3?

I think the issue isn't so much that it's Schwarber, it's that a lot of fans are so scared because everyone is saying this is the year, so any injury or poor performance is going to get magnified.

And stop trolling Ubermerica.

And stop trolling Ubermerica.

They had a pretty remarkably injury free year last year. Things are just evening out.

Avoiding injuries is not luck, and this injury to Schwarber in particular had as little to do with luck as any baseball injury of the last 5 years.

Few players in baseball history have been as bad in the OF as Kyle Schwarber, even guys who've only played the OF for an inning. He was a dangerous to himself, I know it was cute and funny when he dove face first into the grass or completely missed the ball with his glove (sometimes he did both, which was endearing even to me) but suddenly, when he's writhing in pain on warning track, its not so much fun anymore. Schwarber was sacrificed because either (a) Theo got carried away with looking like a genius or (b) Theo knew he had to trade him but Cubs brass vetoed it because Schwarber is extremely marketable to Cubs fans.

This all got magnified by Cubs ST being all about magic shows and sing-a-longs to "stay loose", as opposed to actually teaching Schwarber the first thing about playing the OF. Not like this was a new problem!

I love when Sox fans follow the Cubs so closely. It really makes sense.

Ain't that the truth, I get texts from a dozen Sox fans last nite about Schwarber. They think this injuriy to a DH can derail this big blue train.

Schwarber has gone from Babe Ruth to replaced by Matt Scurzur without Cubs fans blinking an eye.

May I ask what you wanted?

Not come to the park for the next year because we lost a game?

I guess this would be like if the Sox lost Jimmy Rollins.

What he's saying is that it can't be that a guy is compared to the greatest players in history and then suddenly when he's lost it's insignificant.

I expect to hear a phone call like this on B&b next week:

Caller: I'm very worried about losing Schwarber.

li'l danny: Don't be.

Caller: But you've been telling us how good he is for two years...

li'l danny: It. doesn't. matter. This team has been built to withstand any injuries. There's only one guy you need to worry about getting hurt.

Caller: Rizzo?

li'l danny: Wrong. Theo Epstein. He has set this team up to the point where the minor leagues are loaded with talent and injuries will not stop the Cubs from contending for a long time. So you can relax.

Terry: Uh, eh, eh, yeah, as far as I know, uh, eh, Theo doesn't have a terminal disease, so, eh, I mean he could, he coooooooould, but I don't think so, so, uh, uh, yeah, the biggest thing you have to worry about is Theo falling down drunk at Guthrie's and hitting his head.

This is a great post and the best counter-banter I've seen out of the Cubs subdivision in a long time. Keep it up, we may have some fun this season.
