This movie is going to be criminally lost in the shuffle of movies you'll never hear of, but if you can find it I highly recommend it for horror/comedy fans. It is an absolute riot.

it stars elijah wood as a sub elementary teacher slash wannabe novelist who has to deal with kids who get infected and become weird zombies, calling it "cooties". it starts with a girl eating a rotten chicken nugget.

a lot of social satire including shots at bad/absentee parents, the FDA, bad kids, and even bad teachers.

it also stars rainn wilson as the gym teacher, looking very much not at all like dwight from "the office".

another surprise is seeing leigh whannell, the writer and co-star of "saw", in a goofy role. he also co-wrote this film.

you can tell these guys had a lot of fun with this film and it is a real treat for those starving (no pun intended) for a fun horror flick. it doesn't take itself seriously at all. loses a little steam toward the end of the 2nd act but picks up again at the end and the characters are likable.
