My guy is friends with him, Ill ask.

Im sure he'd come back for the Sox though he'd have to say publicaly he bleeds Green and Gray or whatever their colors are.

There's no way the Sox are smart enough to recognize someone who has a combination of:
1) White Sox Fandom
2) On-Air Radio skills
3) objective baseball knowledge
4) Sense of Humor

this was an easy decision and they missed it when he left for Tampa years ago....no way they'd be smart enough to see it now.

I take it that you're not the coachable sort.

I'd be shocked if there was a better color analyst in all of baseball, and yet, you prefer to listen to a full blown retard like Hawk. Interesting.

Ridiculous. Stone is as ignorant regarding mosern analysis as Hawk is.

True, but I think your hate for Stone was born out of when he was with the Cubs and people heaped so much praise on him.

I mean, if he was with the Yankees or Angels, I bet you'd be ok with him

i like Stone as an analyst, but JORR is correct that he is very condescending....always has been. I'm hoping things get better with Hawk fading away. It's been clear since the start those 2 have no chemistry.

True

True? You're seriously cosigning that bullshit?

Stone is a national treasure, and we got him right here in our back yard. I can understand the Bernstein hatred, but this is just embarrassing.

I've always thought Stone was bad. Thought he was bad with the Cubs. But the media always says he's great. He's simply not. If you listen to him, all he does is state the obvious. And he's not very funny, nor does he have good stories to tell.

I love Stone but he is not really up to speed on modern analysis. That's what I agreed with.

Please. Stone is a smarmy douchebag who broadcasts a game as if his audience is a bunch of seven year olds who have never seen a game. He sucks.

Stone is one of the best first-guessers in the business. He's also a pompous and sarcastic asshole who needs to have somebody beat him to a pulp with a 3-iron.

Which direction are you looking Jason Benetti!?!

Eh, my childish observations aside, he sounds decent so far.

Watching the replay of today's game. He's trying way too hard and is pretty damn annoying. He better chill out once the season starts.

I thought he was ok at first....but I agree with you. He seems to "force" questions and conversations. He also seems to try and "force" levity into the broadcast. His look is not exactly "camera friendly" either, but I shouldn't really care about that. I'm thinking as the season starts, and the games start to count....that his broadcasts will reflect that, and he'll be / seem better. He is talented enough to do the job. We'll just have to see how "likeable" he is I guess.

He was a little awkward early in the game but he's settled in. He and Stone work very well together.

Stone must be loving this. I don't think he's gone more than 6-7 seconds without talking. It is an ok listen, but a little empty and a bit bland still. But with a healthy lead I really don't care.

He's fine. Kind of states the obvious a lot. But that's what baseball is about. You gotta talk and say something.

He's a little too cute with Stone like you guys have said. To much of the back and forth of jabs at each other. Sometimes they fail at the attempts to be funny.

But, he's fine. He's like the rest of them in MLB. They're all the same.

Benetti: "sprinkle a little paprika on it(Stone's Rock & Roll HOF pass) & see if you can use it all year"

& whatever they're talking about now is abysmal

No hawk.

My ears have stopped bleeding. I'm OK with this for now.

Stone is also making my ears bleed. The Cubs guy talks but is not overbearing.
