Didn't know much about Suarez, but he looks like he is hitting the crap out of the ball. Would be nice to just sweep this team and knock them off any of their aspirations of doing well this season.

Cincy is off to a surprisingly good start despite giving up Frazier, Chapman and Cueto over the past year. I'm interested to see the Reds and watching perhaps a better series than I might have anticipated a few weeks ago. I have to believe the Cubs take 2 of 3. But predicting a sweep is unrealistic, even though I believe as most Baseball pundits do, that the Cubs are vastly superior than the Reds. I'm glad the weather looks like it's going to be better than forecasted to be several days ago

I don't like the idea of an evening home opener. But I was going to miss the game on radio either way, now I might be able to catch a little bit of the end of it when I get to Florida.

Cold baseball coming, much different from a group of guys that most have been in AZ for 3-4 months now. I think the coldest day these guys have seen in 59 degrees at 6 AM.

I like the test coming, its another hurdle, are they really good or have they just been hitting in ideal conditions. (Outside of the roof leaking in AZ)

If the wind is blowing in, I'm not sure I like Soler in the starting lineup tonight even against a LHP. I'd rather have Sczczur in LF and play a little bit of small ball.

The knock against Soler is that when he hits the ball hard...too many times it is a ground ball or a line drive...and that is why the HR power hasn't been there.

Soler is the guy...ride him. Consistent AB's will only help.

Soler's biggest issue in the field seems to be the angles he takes on balls not hit right at him. That was a knock on Schwarber as well, but he had the excuse that OF was not his natural position. I assume Soler has been in the OF his entire life.

2 out of 3 is the objective. But winning the first game of the series is huge! Don't like Soler playing tonight with the cold.....I hope I am wrong.

Wayne Messmer sounded a little sick.

Saurez is red hot right now and seems to always do well against the Cubs. Bad feelings right now.

My God, Lester got a huge break on that strike call. It was way low.

Lester getting hit hard. Even on the 2 outs. And his command sucks. Falling behind everybody.

Soler might be just as bad as Schwarber in the field. He gets bad jumps on the ball and is just stupid at times. Has a way better arm though.

Lester looks awful.

Taking a bad route on a fly ball is one thing, but throwing to the wrong base is a mental mistake that should not be made. Lester is not fooling anyone in the first inning. Even the 2 outs were both hit hard to 3B and SS. Behind in the count results in predictable pitches, equals uh oh....

Getting out of the inning giving up just one run seems very fortunate.

4 pitch inning for Reds. So much for Cubs patience at plate first week of season.

I'll take it. He's settling down. I'm half hoping the 1st inning yips were excitement and nerves of opening day but I'm thinking a veteran like Lester shouldn't be like that.
